I just happened to purchase the windows surface recently. On my main comp i have ubuntu and win7 installed. (dual booted) through an software called wubi, which enables you to install ubuntu onto any win os platform; accessing it by dual booting....

Since windows surface is part tablet, part pc... Is it possible to install ubuntu(wubi) on to it?

Wubi

EDIT

Yes, i've tried asking this question on the wubi's forum itself... I just didn't get the answer i needed.
If you have the full version of win 8 try making a partition

then downloading the ISO

and then booting form a usb

I haven't tried any of this so use caution.

booting from a usb... atleast its something xD
Well if you boot form the usb and have space unpartitioned you should be able to install ubuntu.

So what you're saying is. Anytime i'd like to boot to ubuntu i always need to have the usb?

Edit
It really isnt.. ubuntu..
its more of backtrack(kali)linux. which boots off without installation... just thought i'd point that out
No, thats why you need to partition space. You would only need the install usb the 1st time to install the OS in the partitioned space. I'm also assuming the surface acts like regular computers as well.

It does. I'ma go head and try it out.
- Thanks
Partitioned installation. When you startup the PC, you choose which OS you want to use. I assume.
Update?
