Okay, I'm a frequenter of Apollo Station 17. It's a great server, but it goes down often, and at those points I want to be able to go on other servers with the same character, because he's ideal for my playing style. So the question; is there any way to transfer a character from one server's slot to another?

No, it isn't.
I am however sorry for the downtimes, we have solved it, but there's some bugfixing to do before letting it out. | |
long answer, it's possible but not without some code changes/cooperation between server hosts so it will probably never happen
