I'm going to lunch with the family for Mother's Day today. The restaurant happens to be five minutes away from a Best Buy, an EB Games, and a CompUSA. It would be the easiest thing in the world to whip out a credit card and buy Oblivion and an Xbox 360 to play it on. But it would be wrong.

Whatever Lola wants Lola gets And little man, Lola Wants you... There's no exception to the rule She's irresistible, you fool... Give in... ./~ Actually, in all honesty, I wouldn't fork over money for an Xbox 360 just to play Oblivion. Deadron would like Oblivion more because it's a more polished, more streamlined game environment, but I've come to the conclusion that Morrowind was quite a bit better, mainly because of the attention to detail and the considerably wider range of characters. And Morrowind will work on a regular Xbox! |
PC, man, PC.
Why buy a 360 when you could spend $200 on a graphics card and play Oblivion on your PC. With full modability. |
I had no intention of trying Oblivion, but the universally positive reviews (including by people who also didn't like Morrowind) mean I probably will check it out...hopefully in a couple of years when the original and expansions are available for $30.
|
someone sneak over to his table during the meal as whisper 'oblivion' as you pass... do it enough times, and i bet he exuses himself to BestBUY-- er... i mean the bathroom!
i'm holding out for Spore. |
While Oblivion for a PC might be nice, I'd hold off on an Xbox 360 until a revised version comes out. If you read the blogs on IGN, you'll find out that only one member of the staff has an Xbox 360 that did not break down. They are not alone.
...Damn, I want Culdcept Saga though. |
It would be the easiest thing in the world to whip out a credit card and buy Oblivion and an Xbox 360 to play it on. But it would be wrong. Yes, it would be wrong, because the PC version is automatically better. BETTER I SAY. |
Too large for me... I might download it offpeak later (I get free offpeak downloads).
|
I just finished watching the Robin Williams & Spore video...
I can't even describe the levels of euphoria I experienced while watching it...lol That game will be the death of me (as in, I'll end up playing it, and forget to eat or sleep or something or other...lol) I can see myself sitting in the editor for hours at a time, perhaps even to the exclusion of the entire rest of the gameplay...lol Similar to what many City of Heroes/Villains players are stricken with... |
To be honest Super, I can't agree with you more. That editor is like sex, except it uses more RAM.
It's going to be friggin' great. The way our single player content we create is silently sent out across the net and distributed to other people's universes? It's like. Man. :D I wanna create SO MUCH STUFF!!! It look so easy too. |
That is incredibly awesome...
And on the other side, being able to explore a universe that will be constantly expanding with dynamically created content from other players will add so much to the experience... I can't wait for the power gamers to get a hold of it, and see who makes the most aggressive/strongest species... And then I want to go kill them...lol |
Give in!
Give iiiiiiiiinnnnnn.
