Hi there,

i bought myself a Raspberry Pi to run multiple
servers on it. And using google i found this thread:

http://www.byond.com/members/?command=view_post&post=34552

i followed the instructions there (making Byond accessible globally with root access) but cant execute the DreamDaemon binary file when using 'DreamDaemon --version' command. It says:

pi@raspberry ~/byond $ DreamDaemon --version
-bash: /home/pi/byond/bin/DreamDaemon: cannot execute binary file

Could someone help me out?

Note: i am a firsttimer to linux and co, but i would like to learn how to host a Byond world on my Linux system.
BYOND is not compatible with the ARM processor architecture.

See this thread for more information: http://www.byond.com/forum/?post=1228459
Hmm well thats bad...
anyways, thanks for the info :P
Is there no way to compile BYOND for the ARM architecture?
It's not really something BYOND is likely to do, no, as it's a non-trivial task for a very small (read: you) userbase of people on ARM.
alright :S
If BYOND was to release on the ARM platform the only two things wi'll happen a rise in raspberry pi sales and posts from people complaining about Naruro538372GTZDB not running because it uses more than 2GHZ CPU at idle.

It would be cool to have for small program's on BYOND perhaps chatters, and someone mentioned SS13 could run on 700mhz.. Other than that it doesn't have any potential and may be a waste of time, a rewrite of BYOND would be more suited instead.
Well, it's kind of a moot point, as there's no resource going spare for a ground-up rewrite I'd think. We're talking a multi-year project there to be feature compatible.
Kinda unrelated, but I'll split our discussion from here when I get home.
