Journalism is what needs to go.

The boxes, on the other hand, must stay.

I will agree to these terms.
I personally think, people should stop making new projects and help people who have current projects, the reason most projects fail is because they can't find a pixel artist or programmer, I also see games in development, that have like 3 pixel artists and no programmers and vice versa.

People make the excuse, is that we have different ideas for our game, is it that hard to adapt and get use to a few changes? If the game launches you can find pixel artists/programmers through the players of the game and then you can make another game.
I agree with him

@Ryuk25
Hmm?

Lucky project, Where did they get those?

Which is exactly why I said to learn how to do things yourself. Stop relying on everyone else. Like I said, the time people in this community spend playing Minecraft and Skyrim can be spent on learning how to make games. Especially when we have Forum making everything easier with his boatload of libraries.

Because, no one wants to build your net dream unless you're willing to pay them to do so. It boils down to "why would I want to help him make his game using his ideas when I can make my own game using my own ideas?"
There are about 50 posts a year related to issues like this. You're not helping by making another post, you're just adding to the problem. Seriously, just give up. You can't enforce rules that people will actually listen to and take into consideration. This community is just immature.

As long as there is retardation in this community, I will be there to point it out. Believe it!
I think what Magnum2k is hinting is that even by talking about the issue, we are not getting closer to getting anything solved. If we all agree that the best course of action is to simply make a game, then we shouldn't talk about why others should do just that - we should simply do it ourselves.

Note:
1. I use simply very loosely in that last sentence.
2. I admit that I haven't particularly helped either. I have worked on several different projects, each closing for various reasons. I need to take my own advice too, yah?
I'm surprised Forum_account hasn't commented on this yet. lol

The thing is, I'm not really here to "help BYOND". Hell, even if I made games again, BYOND would be the last site I would upload my game to because of how terrible the site has gotten. Basically, if I made a game, it would be to benefit myself, not some website where I'll only average 3 players. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see BYOND improve. It's just that I'm too cynical to actually do something myself other than maybe buy an occasional membership.

This post was merely a response to the retards that get all butthurt once you tell them they have a stupid idea and they block you from their blog. Here, I can respond to their nonsense and not be silenced.

I hate to say how much I agree, but it's a lot.

BYOND is a tool for making games. You don't have to post your game to the BYOND website and you don't need to limit yourself to only the player count the BYOND community will give you.

The BYOND user community is really the set of people who make BYOND games, not the set of people who play BYOND games. The people who play games are members of each game's community, they have very little to do with BYOND. You help BYOND by making a game because that means you're a user - more game development activity will improve BYOND. It's not about making a quality game so people will respect BYOND as a game development platform, it's about creating a community of active game developers.
