Looking For A Way to Customize My Website

I want to customize my website and make it the way I want. I don't know how.
I want:
1) Everything but the title to be boxed in. With an opacity
2) The background to be an still/fixed/can't move image

Any help/guidance would be great.

If you want an example, here's one of the members around BYOND.(They don't know I'm linking to them, hopefully it isnt frowned upon.)

Just FYI, we're basically gonna be doing away with blog customization shortly so you may not want to invest in this.

Yes, I realize there will be backlash but it's just something we have to do to make this site function better.

What in the heck do you mean Tom? Last I recalled you parted from BYONd for a bit leaving Lummox to the site. Also what do you plan on doing for the byond members? their customizable websites? Do you plan on reimbursing us with another special little benfit for being a byond member? I don't see any problem with it? What is leading you to these choices. What you should be focusing on is diminishing all these anime games. I read the history of BYOND and you and your buddies intentions was for RPGs not anime where did the meaning of BYOND go. I joined fairly in late 05 early 05 on a previous key. I enjoyed the classic games such as My Life as a Spy, Castle, Omega Mall that defined what BYONd is suppose to be they put their whole heart and soul into games. I'm little upset with the outcome of BYONd wish to see it improved to what it meant to be.

It's useless perks like personal blogs that actually help to bring this site down. If anything, we should have been forced from the beginning to only blog about development, or that our blogs had to be dedicated to a certain game like moddb.com's set up.

I agree with the anime games comment, but these blogs are just as useless. I'll be glad to see them go. Apparently we can't be a productive community with this much freedom, so now Tom has to make changes that essentially force us to. This is not a social networking site, this is BYOND.com where we build games. As I said in another thread, tumblr and blogspot are excellent choices for anyone who just wants to blog all day. Lets reserve BYOND for people who really want to make games.

Wait what? Blogs are going away? This is an outrage, I got my membership from Teka123 for free paid my hard earned $18 to BYOND so I could post inane and pointless crap about my CSS, bases, and favourite anime here on BYOND! You have no right at all to take that away from me. Who do you think you are, the owner of BYOND? I honestly don't think I can support BYOND anymore if I'm not allowed to howl like a maniac chimpanzee and fling poo at everything.
