Now go do it better!

I don't comprehend. Okay, know how top-down shooters have the character rotate depending on where you're aiming? This does the opposite, it rotates the map or rather the client's view. |
It reminds me of the Final Fantasy/Tales of Phantasia mock 3D beginning things. Neat, but I don't understand what the right screen does, plus when I go to the left upon startup both screens go dark or hit a boundary? Eitherway, the left screen with turning is neat. :)

The right screen appears to be a normal version of the map while the left screen rotates. They are showing different views of the same map.

These demos are all useless if they're too impractical to be used in a game. The way to "do it better" is to not waste time doing it at all, so we're all doing it better =)

There's no way to implement this BYOND in a way that it would be practical, so it's not worth anyone's time trying. BYOND needs people making games and people encouraging others to make games. Posts like this that emphasize non-games give people the wrong idea. Praising posts like this can easily lead people to believe that they must create neat non-game creations to impress people, when really, a decent game would be the most impressive thing of all. |
