Keywords: goals
I'm currently an Electrical and Computer Engineering (dual major) student at Kansas State University also working a part-time job. These two factors are a major time-killer, so I don't really get too much time where I'm motivated to work on my own side projects.

Here I look for motivation, by compiling a list of my goals for Winter Break and the next year to come, probably in order of descending precedence.

  • Re-write INI Reader- INI Reader is probably my best contribution to BYOND (ouch), and it's absolutely terrible. I'm sure it's quite bug-ridden, and it's definitely not written in a way that's incredibly easy to maintain.
  • Finish Savefile Reader/Writer- The Savefile Reader/Writer was written based on some research by Bandock and myself of BYOND's Savefile (/savefile) format. This could provide some use to people wanting to write third party applications to read/write Savefiles. It currently lacks writing functionality.
  • Pager + DS Protocol Research - A while back, I wrote a series of articles about proxies that probably weren't really of much use to many people. This line of problems, however, sent me into the realm of curiosity about BYOND's networking, to the point that I set up a proxy and studied for the better part of a month straight the communication between the pager and the hub to try to get a better understanding of what was going on and how things worked. I didn't get too far before I hit a brick wall. I intend to go back and work on blowing through the brick wall with what I know now.
  • Release a game- There's an RPG I've been working on for, oh, five years, and I've barely gotten past character creation. I want to crank that out.

Thus concludes my list of goals for Winter break and the next year.
Good luck to your endeavours Audeuro.
