Back in the day, I could trade in a few games to Funcoland or Playsource and have enough money to get 2 or 3 new games. Back in the day, I didn't have to give the clerk my email address or join their Super Duper Elite Gamer Rewards program. Back in the day, life was good.

Today, when I trade in my games, I'll be lucky if I can even afford a used controller let alone another game. Today, I get messages from Gamestop in my email about all the awesome new overpriced games they want me to come mindlessly waste my money on while using their "reward programs" to convince me that I'm getting a deal. Today, life is bad.

Someone needs to hurry up and invent a time machine already. Back like 2 or 3 years ago when I traded a few games into Gamestop and got a couple bucks for them, I realized something. I realized that there was a place called craigslist, and that people on craigslist wouldn't give me a few bucks for a Playstation 2 and several games. I sold my PS2, games, controllers, and memory card for like $120. Worked out for him because he would've spent around $250-$300 for that if he had gone to Gamestop, and it worked out for me because there was no way in hell I was going to get anything near $120 for it.
