Help Wanted!

The Journalism Choice Awards are right around the corner and we are in need of some judges. To be a judge you do not have to be a well known part of the BYOND Community (however apparently some believe it gives more recognition to the event, oh my), it is only required that you can form well thought opinions. Judges will be required to overview the present games and assign points to each category given. Along with the 'points', Judges must also be able to give reasoning for their 'total score'. Think of it like a succinct game review. The more judges we can acquire, the more variety (or maybe consensus) we can obtain. A limit of 6 judges has been placed.

Oh dear what?

I don't see why I'm not a judge by default. I criticize people on a daily basis.
I think silk is trying to say that the more people you have the more likely you wont be able to get them all to agree on something.

Trolling and criticizing are two different leagues, my friend.

I know - I happen to excel at both.

Oh, what a recommendation. :D
Actually, now that I think about it, MasterMerv would be a good fit.

I give him my judge seat.
I'll sell MasterMerv's seat to Silk Wizard.
I send Magnum an email, hope he get it.
Ill take a seat, but frankly im to lazy to send you an e-mail. So, yeah... lets see how this post goes! ;o
I sent you an email. Love the idea and open to help in any capacity.

You're too lazy to send an e-mail and your actually expecting to be picked as a judge?
If you are applying to be a judge, I want you to think of these few things.

Do you have any experience in game review, or judgement?

Are you able to provide constructive criticism?

If you're presented with a game you play all the time with another game that you've never heard of or tried, would this throw off your votes?

Are you knowledgable of the BYOND Game selection?

Do you keep up with BYOND game developments, and/or their developers?

Would you be bias towards a developer just because of the genre they work in?

----

Pretty much you need to figure out if you can give your opinion on a game well, if you're bias or not (or if you'll let it slip into this), and if you know the developers / games enough to not have a problem with this.

And on another note, Should Libraries be added into this? The only libraries that would be viewed would be ones from 2011.

Yes, they should. It would be pointless if they weren't included - I was listening to the BYONDcast last night I took some of their ideas into consideration; like, have a Game of the Year for every genre, Developer of the Year, Library of the Year, and also, we should give the community the option to vote as it would also beneficial even more.

Sadly, I'll do this in an application format?

Do you have any experience in game review, or judgement?
Professional experience? No.
Personal experience? Yes. I tend to judge every now and then.

Are you able to provide constructive criticism?
Without a doubt.

I dare never be biased when it comes to opinions. It's dishonorable and is for those without pride. (Medieval4Life)

Are you knowledgable of the BYOND Game selection?
Quite. I figure it's going downhill, but I'm familiar with what's current.

Do you keep up with BYOND game developments, and/or their developers?
I never seem to not comment on a game's progress/news. I read all the info, may joke (troll) around, but I'm caught up.

Would you be bias towards a developer just because of the genre they work in?
All developers are worth fair respect. Even rippers need respect, so they learn to start working on something originaly produced.
