This is out to all the developers and programmers lurking around BYOND! We want to know your first languages... and, if you want, tell us your favourite one! Maybe give some insight into what's a good starting language for begginers, and to which one may bring in the most bacon for the family?

But, really, I have one personel question myself. Which one is the most challenging?
HTML/CSS

Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy is that on the list.
English
C# was the easiest to learn for me.

I'm trying to learn C#, but I'm tempted towards Visual Advance or CSS/HTML. I put CSS and HTML together because they are slightly similar.

Similar? CSS is meant to design/style HTML pages, HTML is meant to display information. I would have accepted "I put them together, because they're supposed to be".

If only it was an actually usable engine, like Game Maker... then maybe I wouldn't be so far behind.

I think it's good that BYOND isn't a game engine but it is unfortunate that many people treat it as one (or expect it to be one).

Because BYOND isn't an engine you're free to use it to create whatever kind of game engine you need (though there are obviously some bounds). People often mistake BYOND for being an engine so they jump right into developing their game. Without some organized engine, DM projects quickly become too messy to manage.

My teacher's pretty shitty, then. He said they were two different languages that complemented eachother.
No no no, they are different. I would not call them languages. If they're 'languages' then they're interpreted languages. CSS was made in 2001 or so with the intention to stylize HTML pages. Instead of using attributes with your tags. Like color with font, etc. They're different, and they do compliment each other. Because they were made to compliment each other (rather CSS was).
Ah. I see. Thanks for correcting me, EG.
English.
DM... Then German, And English...
wonders why the hell anyone would use c--???
Nice Poll, I voted none because I didn't see "DM" before I voted >.< (Overlooked it.)

Out of my list of learned programming languages, I'd have to say DM is the most challenging, why? Because is the only language I know. But wait, hear me out, DM uses Procs, Variables, etc, the other programming languages I know don't have any of that because "I don't know any other programming languages."

I once tried some Unity and that was pretty interesting, but I didn't learn to much because I was kind of trying it out, I may jump back in soon though. (Or tackle DM and Unityscript at the same time o.o)
The most easiest language is Html and most challenging is C++ in my opinion.

P.S I'm learning C++.
Thanks Teka. For fixing the comments =/
