Spirit Age
An amazing action adventure game in a fantasy world on mystical islands

A month into Spirit Age's development now, and there's alot that's already been done. Most of this time has been spent designing maps, which is now complete with the first and largest landmass that will be featured in the game.

The Base is just about completed only lacking one state(A generic state for riding mounts)and with that the base will be completed.

A few days ago, no more than a week. I started designing and creating enemy Mobs for the game.

Discussing Soul Drives.

Soul Drives Are supplementary abilities within Spirit Age that Grants users with temporary power boosts. Each Ability will function on a fixed time amount where the user returns to normal promptly after the allotted time expires.

There are 3 stages to each Soul Drive. Each stage must be accessed via 'Skill Board' Which is very similar to the license board seen in Final Fantasy XII. With this Spirit Age will have no predetermined classes that players often have to choose from. Instead, Players will be able to freely develop their character around any skills or professions available.

There are current 2 Soul drives that have already been designed: Fire and Earth.
Fire>Offensive focus--Pheonix
Earth>Defensive focus--Basalisk

Leaving Wind and Water's designs in the air :|

These transformations also grants new passive and active abilities.

Discuss!
Looks freaking awesome!
Well... Great Job :)
Can't Wait !

Wind could have a focus on speed and mobility, like a rogue type thingy

Water could be based around healing or buffing allies(?) or absorbing damage and turning it into hp

also the base of the basilisk's neck has perspective/lighting issues

Thats pretty much how elements are currently set to work. What i was referring to was a specific entity to base elements around (IE. Fire-Pheonix)

Im polishing and fixing the basilisk's errors as we speak.
Orgasm
;_; Beautiful.
Wind = Griffins
Water = Mermaids (or Water Dragons)
The entities must represent their respective element in some way.
in Fiction, the basilisk has many "forms" and i choose the serpent because it seemed to fit the reputation " king of the serpents" pretty well.

for example
Kinda hard to think of birds for wind since a phoenix is a bird already and that has been classified under fire.
That's the reason i didn't choose something to represent the wind element as birds or winged beasts are normally the first to come to mind.
For wind you could do something with petals or perhaps hurricanes or maybe a Tengu and what not. For water you could do something like a Kappa or perhaps Nessy related.
Well for water we settled on the idea of the kraken for water and seeing as all the entities were of Greek motifs we thought wind should also follow.
Toy story.
Perhaps you should try an oriental type air dragon. Since obviously birds are out because of the phoenix. There is very little that corresponds animals wise with wind besides birds or natural occurrences. But since you are obviously going with more mythological elements I would look into air dragons, which generally are oriental in nature and don't have wings but still fly. Something about using the air currents to push themselves up and gliding through the air that way.

As for water, that is a difficult one was well since water normally represents things that would need to actually be in water. I do however, like the mermaid idea, although a little impractical outside of water. A leviathan might be the solution to that. It is kind of like a water dragon, has many different variations. Or perhaps even a Kraken? If we look at some more modern examples of Krakens (such as clash of the titans) they are water based creatures but have a similar structure to a turtle so they can move about outside of water (but obviously don't travel far from it) they also have tentacles and are similar to squids and in some instances are squids. symbolically water could create a shield much like the shell of a turtle. Or the tentacles could be used for defensive purposes such as keeping enemies back or offensively grabbing them and throwing them or attacking them. Or whatever you had in mind. Lol. Just a suggestion.

Bwahaha! I was typing my last reply when you posted this and completely missed it. XD Great minds think alike! Harpies would be the closest thing I can think of in Greek mythology to wind
Is the second stage of the fire drive suppose to be a butterfly?
heheh, Well Wind plays the supportive role in game while having the highest damage per second(DPS) of all the elements. Wind generally applies speed based buffs and de buffs.

With that i thought wind should be the wolf.
