The sprite sheet will be used as the male, "base icon" for the Theran race in Prism. This is a large project, so we will be commissioning a sample, single frame sprite first. We are aiming to mimic this art style. After completion of this project, there may be an opportunity for more work.

If interested, email nefarious.development at gmail.com with a link to your portfolio.
That is quite a nice amount of money there. (:
Didn't Tayoko take up your offer a few posts back? He seems like he could tackle this job pretty easily.
Our price offer for sample work was not acceptable to Tayoko.

Ah, probably because he has a lot of other work too. If I was as good as he was, or even good enough to mimic the style shown in that screenshot, I'd jump at the chance to make $700 since I have tons of time on my hands. My art is too cartoony unfortunately.
Nice cash amount, is that for 1 base? I've only done a cartoonish style and never did iso, but the amount is good enough to try. xD
$700 for a single sprite?

This project's budget must be in the tens of thousands, basing my estimations off of the design snippet posted before - very exciting!

Good luck with this, and if you haven't already, it might be worth posting an ad on Pixel Joint as well as Way of The Pixel.

$700 for 136 individual frames. In my opinion, this is reasonable for professional level work. The ad is posted at pixel joint as well.
Yeah, it's about $5 a frame.

I'm just a little surprised that someone on BYOND is willing to pay that amount, since the total spent on art is going to end up pretty high... you're going to need a bunch of pretty sprites, effects, tilesets, and whatnot to go with the base.

What's your budget for the whole project, if you don't mind sharing? My interest comes from experience in funding my own project (one that is a lot smaller, mind you; I paid $100 for my tiny 32x32 base ;])

Budget for the entire project is between $2000-$3000. The rate will not be $5 per frame for all of the art. In fact, much of the pixel work I can do myself or contract out to newer artists who are willing to work for less. I just don't feel that the base sprite that is going to be used for most of the game characters is something to skimp on. Also, I'm considering holding a contest in order to obtain some of the sprites that will be used as hair/armor/weapons/clothing on the base.
$$Cha-$$Ching. Good luck with it. I am looking forward to it.
Lots of cash there, I see you are a team that is really trying, cant wait to see this game get finished
Good Pixel art does take a good chunk of time. Think about it, if you work for hours trying to make art look good, then free just doesn't sound right.
I decided to try to commission Nick Lee himself for the project. That's going require me to reevaluate my budget and scope of the animations, but I believe it will be well worth it.
