Hey everyone, I've got most of the bugs from 0.9 fixed and I figured I'd release it as a full game!
Of course I'll be regularly releasing new stuff for the game, but I've wanted to get it onto a proper hub for a while now and here it is.
So, now you can host your own game and have fun!
Hosts: you should have at least a dual core cpu to host the game.
Players: if the mouse seems unresponsive, it's probably an issue with java, try using the keyboard controls instead. Menu>control Options>untick mouse control

I love the keyword.

I guess it's because I have the keyboard code running off the mouse code >_>
It'll be fixed by tomorrow sorry -__- |
Hm. I noticed the mouse didn't aim properly when I played as well.
Guess it wasn't just me. |
When I first started, I could aim my turret or shoot, then when I was destroyed, I could move and shoot well, until a AI Tank appeared, then I couldn't aim my turret or fire anymore. I think it's somehow linked to the AI.

I would agree, but, you can turn off the world AI if you like and as it turns out, even with no AI, the issue still arises. Chances are it's a bug with the way byond talks to java.

It still says 0.9_5 on the hub entry and title bar of the version I tried so I'm not sure how reliable my report is. However, the mouse aiming wasn't working well for me either. I had to aim quite a bit clockwise and sometimes I'd come out of my base unable to aim at all. Respawning sometimes failed (or at least made me tired of waiting) as well.
I use Vista Home Premium 64-bit. |
Yeah, the mouse thing is quite the issue. For a while there it worked perfectly and then one day, without changing the source, poof, it was bugged, so I'm guessing it's something to do with java, since that's the only thing that could've changed when the issue showed up.
As for the respawning, yeah, I've got it set to check the area for enemies and then find another random turf, I'm thinking of switching it to waypoints, this way it only has to check 100 different atoms instead of 1600 atoms. (which I should have done i the first place.) So it should be much faster in 1.0 Also, the version is 0.9_5 currently,. I made a new post about it earlier today but I guess it hasn't shown up yet? Oh well, look forward to 1.0 either tomorrow (later today) or Sunday. |
