The anime is called Orphen. Orphen is about a renegade sorcerer. He (like many anime protagonist) has a dark past and a bad attitude. The only thing he's really missing is a giant sword.( oh wait he even gets this later on!)
He's on a quest to return a sorceress from his past back to her human form from a dragon, known as the "bloody august". Of course, along the way he picks up two followers. A young apprentice called Magic, and a new love interest who is useless except for providing someone for orphen to constantly rescue.
Surprisingly the humor isn't bad. I actually found myself laughing aloud to some of the jokes here. They sometimes unexpectedly use profanity, and since its not used often here it really helps the jokes get across.
The anime does have a couple of fillers, but they all manage to trace back to the story somehow, or are otherwise entertaining enough for you to not be bored with them. For all you perves out there this anime doesn't have anything near the perverted scenes we see in more modern anime.
If youre looking for a new, complex storyline, or top notch animation, you wont find it here. Its a story with a lot of cliches, and a rather predictable ending. But one thing this series does have is charm. It definitely has a 90's feel to it.

Overall I'd give it a 7/10.The animation is really lax is some scenes, the storyline is like a rehashed jrpg, and I listened to the English voices, and they were horrendous. There is nothing really new here but it gives a nice nostalgic feeling.
