It's certainly possible to write a program that recovers code from a .dmb file, but its not easy. The people who would want such a program generally aren't capable of writing it. I think a lot of the rumors about having the ability to steal code rely on the code in question being so simple. If your game has punching bags that have a Punch verb that gives the player experience, I don't need a decompiler to steal that.

Also, depending on how .dmbs are made, the code returned by the decompiler might be rather useless. It might not have variable names, whitespace, or other things that make code easy to work with.
So Anime HQ admits to knowing someone who can is ripping and yet hasn't reported them...? Lol.

I didn't think it was that big of a problem until one of my buddies got this page: http://tinypic.com/r/30a49s2/7

I rofl'd at that. I heard about it elsewhere as well, but didn't know they were spamming pagers.

Obviously, it's a massive scam, but it's still hilarious.
Lol reason why I didn't report him is because
1. He is a very close friend of mine

2. He is professional, doesn't rip stupid games to use their source or give it away.

3. He only created it to see if he could do it
