So people have been making a huge fuss over the recent price change that Netflix has done. Before you were paying ten dollars for a subscription of unlimited DVDs and streaming. Now Netflix separated the plans instead of combing unlimited DVDs and streaming for ten dollars. They're combined for sixteen dollars which is significantly huge.

You're going from ten dollars to sixteen dollars, and a lot of people are furious about this and have even canceled their subscription. My question tonight is why people are so anal about a six dollar increase? It's still significantly less when it comes to satellite and cable. That's the main reason why I switched in the first place because I was getting tired of the crap my cable company was pulling.

I even convinced my dad to get rid of the phone, and stick to a prepaid phone which sliced fifty more dollars from having to be sent to an ungrateful cable company. In my opinion, sixteen dollars for unlimited streaming and DVDs isn't too bad. It's not insane to me, and no I don't get a lot of money each month either. My dad is struggling with economic situation just like everyone else in America, except Paralegals.

I rather pay sixteen dollars a month than pay for anything over 50+ bucks. The economy is horrible, I don't feel like I'm obligated to make my cable company richer than I am anymore. Yes a lot of people are still paying them, and yes its just a small three thousand dollars to them. But still, three thousand dollars is a lot of money to someone like me.

I'll be damned if I give them a penny more, even though I have to pay for my cancellation charge. But still! stop crying you people, its not insane to pay sixteen dollars a month for a good service. 26 dollars for two services isn't bad either. Huluplus+Netflix. :S
I managed to read "Paralegals" as "Parallels"
lol 'Cancellation Fee" Dayum.. they sap your money right down till when u wanna let go.
If you want this from a logical, economic perspective then I'll throw in my 2 cents.

In Economics we would refer to this as their elasticity of demand. Usually as price increases, demand decreases but it can decrease at different rates in relation to the change in price.

This firm has decided that by increasing their price they will receive a greater increase in total revenue to a proportionally smaller change to price.

This means that they are now closer to their profit maximizing level of output. This point is the same as the equilibrium point of supply and demand.

So what does this mean? Well a firm should always strive to produce at this point so from a economic perspective this decision is most logical and those people who are no longer willing or able to purchase the good no longer matter. They're totally irrelevant to the firm, that's why complaining will always get them no where.

therefore i dont fucking care about netflix

Well someone has their mean pants on today. I'm not asking you to care about Netflix. But thanks for your opinion, even though it was extremely rude. I can't contribute to the development of games and even though I enjoy playing video games, its not something I like to talk about on a daily basis.

In my first post I stated that I wanted to use my blog for something that I do like to do. Which is blogging, so yeah.
