Here is a knight i been working on tell me what you think

Update

I think the knight's helmet should look more like a helmet as opposed to a rock.

The purpose of the helmet was to protect the entire head - not just the top of it. I should be able to see it coming down onto the sides of his face. It also could use a bit more detail, like maybe that red thing that usually sticks out from the top of it ( I have no idea what it's called ) or the visor ( the part of the helmet that you are able to pull up when you're not in combat and back down when you are ).

Yo! Dude >.< Get on msn.
Yah, I agree with ET.
More ovally helmet over entire face. I agree with ET there too.
Is the knight wearing glasses?
It looks amazing Double D.

Glad to have ya onboard!

As far as detail is concerned, you can only fit so much into such a small sprite. Do not take ET's advice in cramming more. Improve on what you have.

Cramming more? So he should sacrifice detail in the name of space? Changing the colors you use won't make an object look like what you want it to look like - only detail does that. The "helmet" he had before looked like a slab of rock. No matter what colors you use, it will still end up looking like a slab of rock until you add detail and modify the shape of the helmet a bit. Now that he took my advice, it looks recognizable. It looks more like armor now.

Take his sprite, erase the visor, and just use your "cartoony palette" method and show me what you're talking about. I'd like to see how you can get it to look like a helmet simply by using different colors and never adding actual detail to the shape.
I am working on the colors i am useing for the armor now and ET if i add all that stuff its looks to over there top sometimes Less is More

You already did add the stuff. I just said add a visor or the red thing I wish I knew the name of.

There may not be room for the red thing I wish I knew the name of, but that can easily be fixed just by editing the top of the helmet to come in more. But it already looks fine just with the visor.
ya they old helmet was to bowl looking like he had a thing of soup on his head
Pretty cool xD
I happen to have been drawing cartoony sprites like the one you see above since 05, don't tell me I don't have experience. I was paid over $100 last year for my artwork and could be making money now if I felt like being bothered with other people's projects. You're making yourself look stupid - everyone here has agreed with what I said about the sprite except YOU. You even admitted to not seeing the previous sprite that I was referring to so I'm not even sure why you're commenting.

In a few posts back, I told DD the sprite was ok now that he added the visor, which is the same sprite we're looking at now. Before it just looked like this.

Shut up and stick to talking about what you're good at: retro 8bit art. Even if I wasn't an artist, that doesn't mean I don't know what a knight helmet looks like. Especially since I've been drawing knights, like I mentioned, since 05. Retard.
You're fun to chat with as well. I find it humorous that you seem to think I'm about to go through the unnecessary trouble of proving myself to you. I couldn't care less about what you think of me. You're desperately trying to win an argument you lost a while ago by pulling completely false assumptions out of your ass - but yet you call me the childish one.

For the record, I set the price at $100. The job was easy, it took me 15-30 mins to complete each little portion of sprites I was doing. I'm not going to charge someone $400 for a simple job. That's called a rip off. Maybe you enjoy getting over on people but that doesn't mean everyone else does.

I never said color palettes weren't important. I said you needed to do more than just change the color palette to make the knight helmet look like an actual knight helmet rather than, like Dungeon admitted himself, a "bowl". I also never said I only had a few sprites from 05, I said I've been drawing since 05. I'm beginning to think you lack the ability to read. Not that I expect a retard of your caliber to possess that skill.

You're probably the most hostile art noob I met. I don't normally laugh at people who are noobs, but I'm going to make a special case for you since you have a serious mental complex going on. Ok Picasso, let's see your art instead of flinging monkey dung. Put up or shut up? I'm sure you've seen plenty of mine.

It is indeed official. You cannot read. I'll stress this one last time: You're nobody. Once you become someone who is actually worth proving myself to, I'll be more than happy to show you my artwork.

You seem to think you're some sort of pixel art authority or something. I don't care how awesome your portfolio is - it doesn't make you right 100% of the time in discussions like this. Everyone so far has agreed with me, and after taking MY advice, the same advice you told DD not to take, the sprite has turned out a lot better. And you're too much of a conceited prick to admit it.

Slave rates = over $100 for a total of less than 2 hours of work? And you're right, I'm in my parent's basement while you're living in a million-dollar mansion thanks the amazing salary you earn drawing 8 bit sprites. Am I right?

Until ET shows he can actually draw (seen his horrible meteor wars drawings...ugh), then I really would ignore him outright in advice, Dungeon Dan. He likes to troll hard.

Funny how you're giving me challenges when I asked you to do something a long time ago. I'd copy and paste my request, but I'm sure you'd only read half of it, make another stupid assumption, and then declare yourself the winner of this argument.

Also, Metier War was intentionally bland and non-animated. Part of the inspiration for the game came from Proelium and I was aiming for a similar look. But you're free to judge my capabilities based on sprites I whipped up in 15 minutes a year ago.

BTW, he already took my advice and improved on the sprite. Had he taken your advice, the sprite would still look like shit and you're the only one here who thinks otherwise.
OK you guys ET I do agree with Neblim put up or shut up And ET if your to blind to see a WIP as my first post was the helmet had no detail yes. because i had not started on the helmet, and color make a big differences on how your detail will pop and show. sometimes less is more were detail stands

I'm pretty sure if I present some sprites, he'll say they're lame, or that the sprites are stolen, or something else that makes no sense. Because that's all hes been doing - making dumb assumptions.
well i want to see i want to see your art
Fine, you want art? I'll give you all art.
