So July is going to be the first month without cable television. I got fed up with having to pay $270 dollars a month to a company that's unreliable. Figured out with simple math that my dad and I are paying over three thousand dollars a year.
So I convinced my dad to switch to something more reliable and cheap. So I switched to Netflix, Hulu, and some other sports website for my dad. The reason why I have Hulu+ and Netflix together is because Netflix doesn't have everything which a lot of people complain about.
I figured paying on average, maybe about $50 a month is a whole lot better than playing $270. I don't have a console so I have to buy Roku which allows me to stream movies and everything to my TV. With Netflix I can check out DVDs too, so no more rentals. XD
Previously spent:
$270/mo for cable.
$3,000+/yr for cable.
Now
$18+/mo for hulu+netflix/sports website
$216/yr for these websites.
That or I suck at math. :] which is sad. XD
Now what else can I save money on?.... /glances at Phone. :]

Hey that's actually a brilliant idea! Also, I have another anime for you to watch to extend that list of yours. Shaman King! You won't be disappointed.

Internet>Cable Indeed my friend, indeed. lol With the Internet being flexible, it almost seems that cable is pointless. Not just the Internet, but with technology in general. |
Cable is pointless with internet.. you've got everything and more on the net.. plus its cheaper.. and you choose what you want to watch. lol.

Wow, 270$ a month for cable? That's ridiculous, my family pays far less than that for our internet, landline, and satellite TV combined.

We planned on switching to get something cheaper. But this area where we live, there isn't much options. But I'm pretty much fed up with the cost, and I'm determined to save money. I feel stupid for not doing it much earlier. Netflix and Hulu is going to make things easier. I can order DVDs, stream shows to my TV, and save money. |
