Hey everyone, drastic change ahoy?
Lots of people have told me they want color, many of them reasoning how its hard to keep an audience if the game would be black and white. And I agree!
If you don't agree, I'm keeping the color, but you can suggest different alternatives. Maybe a different palette or decreasing number of colors used, or something.
Right now, the palette is 16 colors including black and white.

Here's the update-video thing, now with audio! ;)

And now about the server update. I've found BYOND Panel, a hosting service that is very kind and caring for all its clients. I tested it out earlier today, and the service was great and starting off the site was very neatly organized and helpful!
It's only $1 a week, $4 monthly, and ~$35 yearly (Don't quote me on that one.) so I suggest checking them out and at least taking them into mind as an option for all your hosting needs! (:
Here's Dan's contacts in his BYOND forum topic.

Comment if you don't like the color, comment if you want it to change slightly, comment if you love the color. Heck, comment whatever as long as its slightly relevant. I read 'em all! ;)

because of the 16 color part!

Would you rather have 8? Because I could do 8, I guess..
I like the color, but the grass and water seem out of place. I'm not sure if it's just because they're a solid mass, or because of the colors. Maybe try adding a little more texture to them? They look like play-doh to me.

Otherwise, I love the style!
@DarkCampainger: I totally agree! I'll add some texture!
I would pick neutral on the voting. I think the grayscale offers something unique but adding color is ok. You could provide the option. I would highly recommend picking vibrant colors with simple but obvious texture differences. Bubbles, lines, spikes, dots, and etc.
If you don't mind me saying that is a beautiful color of green and blue. I like them more plain, for some reason that wins me over more than the texture of the dirt. I think that perhaps thing like the sign and the fade away should stay black and white. I think it would be cool for everything that is interface or hud to be more based off of black and white.
I'd shamelessly like to suggest the NES palette because I'm a sucker for 8-bit games.

I did really like the black and white though.
I think the colour was a good improvement. It also allows for branching into colour-coded puzzles, like a red pot going on a red switch to activate it.
The darker/paler colours suit the greyscale your using, an option to use b&w would make both sides happy though.

If you did do that, and introduce colour-coded puzzles, just remember to make different colour objects different shapes too so it still works in b&w.
I was actually thinking on allowing people to use a "Texture pack" that they can create and put into the folder and specify the game to use it.
It wouldn't work on multiplayer, but it would on singleplayer! (:
I prefer the black and white art style. It was unique.
Noooooooooooo!!!! I was so excited about the black and white. It really would have set Delve apart. Plus, I actually think it looks even uglier now, no offense.
Looks better with color. No doubt. Your right on why nobody makes black & white games no more.
Color looks cool. Not to be pervy but some of the red(mushrooms, trees, castle-thing?)stuff on the side looks like a penis. ->
How about instead of colors you use shades of gray?
It is hard for me to read this font on your CSS. Just use Calabri?!
why is there no black and white anymore it looked better
Looks fine to me, other than the grass texture as stated before...The problem also could be the bright pallete you used, kind of distracting to me but I like the overall color scheme.

Maybe you could give an option of playing the game in black and white or colored for different gamers...

Remember, we LOVE CUSTOMIZATION.
People like color. People also like 3D, advanced particle effects, lighting effects, etc.
I dare you to keep an even larger audience that way :P
