I posted a blogged about Twitter recently and I think my enthusiasm for the social network really leaked out (I encourage you all to give it a try!). Anyway, I've been reading some interesting studies on the microblog networking that's been emerging over the past few years. I got curious as to how many of the BYONDers support networks similar to Twitter.
I think I said in my earlier blog that I really enjoy the on-the-go feel and portability of networks like Twitter. I like that your personality is defined bit by bit through your posts and it makes networking with new, interesting people fun and exciting because you can easily align your interests with one another.
What really got me interested in these studies is that the past week I've been out of town and found myself using Twitter more and looking for tips on how to strengthen my Twitter community and really enrich the experience in general. I found a lot of points that I agreed with, like: Quality over Quantity, Genuineness and the simple fact that with networks like Twitter, you get what you put into it!
I don't mean for this to sound like propaganda in support of Twitter (or other microblogging resources). I want to know what your takes on the concept of microblogging in general are so I can put together an evaluation of the BYOND community for my own records.
Do you use any microblogs? What appeals to you about them? Which ones do you use? & Any other personal notes you might have about your own opinion or agreeing/disagreeing with mine!
