I now present to you the game that you have ALL been waiting for: Duck Racer! It is hands down THE most polished game on BYOND since classics like DBZ Relegr8 and Draggin' Ballz4k!

The setting is 2083, a field in somewhere where the grass is actually mostly green. You're a duck with a bandana flying around close to ground level. As it's 2083, there is no such thing as gravity anymore and there's objects flying all about and, GASP, FOOD PELLETS! The goal of the game is to avoid the large objects while eating the small objects.

Sounds simple enough, eh? Here's the catch! Flying into the pellets and objects does not give you score or affect you at all, they must run into you. Pretty amazing, huh? This game is 90% complete, the other 10% is the RPG part that I'm currently working on.

(spoiler: guns and power-ups)

What are you still doing here, though? Go beat my lousy score and earn you some medals!
Wow, I can't imagine playing long enough to get 3000 points. No offense, but it's really simple right now.

However, with some paint and smoother controls, it could be a pretty fun arcade game.

I would suggest turning on sync_steps for the obstacles, if not implementing a pixel-movement system. I would also suggest adding more dynamic obstacles (eg that move around or target the player)

Also, a score display, pl0x.

3000 points isn't actually that hard to get, you just have to hit a bunch of pellets on the same layer as obstacles to get there quicker. 1.5 modifier for those pellets. It's meant to be simple. :p

Some paint? Psh! The controls could probably be smoother, but as stated above it's meant to be a rather simple game. I'm considering looking into perhaps implementing maybe a pixel-based movement system at some point, but I think that might detract from the sheer awesomeness of the game.

Whoops, see above.

Yeah, I'm thinking I might add that in at some point.

Of worthy note is that the obstacles should get more challenging as you go on. Every 20 seconds the difficulty gets upped, and more obstacles spawn based on the difficulty. At some point I might look into making the obstacles spawn randomly anywhere between x=3 and x=maxx, but for now it is as it is.
By popular demand, the new version has a custom interface and a score display.
eh? Consider adding a link?
It's in the first paragraph where it says "Duck Racer!".
Consider applying a stylesheet that lets you see the links!?!
Oh, trust me. Any style sheet I could whip up would make that link much much less noticeable. :D
Are you crazy? DBZ ReleGr8 was way better than this pile of offal! Where's the flashing colours? The ban verb? The social interaction?
