Yes you did. You said FUNimation has total control over DB. They don't. Not even animation wise. Toei won't let them near the Dragon Box: The Movies footage or GT's DBOX masters, or just DBOX. They've only recently granted them rights to DBOX Z.
With that said, for the sole fact the games are Pokemon and contain characters from the franchise, VIZ Media has control over the fan-games.
@PerfectGoku: My bad, I don't like/care about Dragonball so I honestly don't give two shits. Point being Viz would have to go through Game Freak, Creatures Inc, Nintendo, etc. to pursuit full legal action against a fan game. Which they couldn't even do if there weren't any characters that are strictly from the anime. (Pokemon characters such as Pikachu aren't are majority copyrighted to Game Freak so Viz would definitely have to work through Game Freak which Game Freak could probably care less.
tl;dr - Unless anime characters(Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, etc) are used in their exact likeliness, Viz wouldn't be able to do much about it. | |
That's right, they'd have a fair say if most of content if not all was anime related, which I can really see relating to some very poorly crafted rips that don't have very much content as it is.
