Someone should do one of these:

It's a video where you basically talk about what you're working on. You could even record yourself doing the actual programming and things like that. This would also be an excellent way to connect with your playerbase. You could allow people to ask questions in the comments and then discuss them in the following video as well as explain new things you've added.

It's not a must, but it is more exciting than reading walls of text all the time. It would be awesome for talented game developers like Silk Games, Forum_account, or Iain to maybe drop a video every week or whenever you add something major. Besides, YouTube will help get your game noticed by people who haven't even discovered BYOND.

BTW, this game will only be on XBOX I believe, which is a huge letdown for us PC Gamers. I was so ready to torrent this game until I saw "Platform: XBOX 360" then I was like FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU but it's all cool.
I also agree that'd be pretty cool indeed.

I just thought of another idea too. You know how we have different sections of blog posts, like Reviews, Polls, etc. There could be a new section added just for videos for people who would want to start doing this.
I might be the odd man out but I prefer a more organized written summary I can skim and quickly find relevant information in. I never watch casual development videos as they tend to digress into irrelevancy and monotone, slow-going pieces. It might be worth it to have both for advertisement purposes, though.
I think it'd be a good exercise for the developer. You can have no work done and describe the game to people. You can have none of the gameplay implemented and still be able to show screenshots. If you want to make a video, you need to have things working.
Well, gameplay videos are a different matter. I guess I have a double standard here, heh.

Videos can be organized too. In some videos, people include things like:

1:50 - Intro
2:00 - Gameplay Review
3:00 - FAQ

Just to indicate what is being discussed at different times of the video. You skim a video just as well as you can a paragraph.
I don't think you can. A video has to load, andeven in the rare case someone takes the effort to organise the video like that (they don't), you still have to hear, say, the entire 2 minute FAQ rather than jump to the interesting questions.

I would think that if something is in the FAQ, it would be interesting since it's a frequent question many people, possibly including you, would need to know the answer to. Also, you don't have to wait for the video to load to skip ahead.
Skipping ahead without the video fully loaded takes time, and often bugs up, at least for me. But sure, if a video is highly organized and if everything in the FAQ is entirely relevant and interesting, then you're right. That's a pretty big if you have here.
This might be a little over the top, but if enough people share Toads opinion on the matter, maybe a written summary of what's covered in the video could be helpful. I don't mean something like two sentences either, I mean the summary would be enough to describe everything in enough detail so someone doesn't need to watch the video to understand everything.
