46% (32)Alright. So, I was playing the game known as Shinobi of Legend by Saucepan Man, when I had seen the comment, "naruto evolution is most likely a rip". I was completely Open-Mouthed at this as, I have been with Crazah as far as the game goes, since it was in it's earliest of stages. Seeing as I have, I understand how you may think I may be a bit biased well, I am. I am openly honest about this, however, the fact that the rumor of this beautiful game is a rip, absolutely disgusts me, seeing as it is so openly renowned, and isn't even listed in the BYOND Anime guild, and can still obtain more players than that of many of the longer running games that have been stable for the longest time. It is now a competitor (Player-base wise) with Naruto GoA created by Masterdan.
Anyway, getting back on topic, I wanted to take the time to ask the communtiy of BYOND whether they think that Naruto: Evolution is truly a rip or not, if anything, to settle this little debate. To do so, I'd greatly appreciate comments and voting of the poll. Thank You.

im sorry carter is your poorly designed piece of crap any better? iv played on byond off and on iv played SOL GOA and Evolution goa after a few days get boring SOL lasted a few week but nothing new has been added 2 it fir the past few years nara is oped and any 1 can afk train bunshins but... Evolution is still pretty fun.. there's a lot of problems but at least there working on them... nut up or shut up

They (namely Teka, I presume) don't have the time to log in each game and play for 2 hours to determine if it's a rip or not. I have actually been in over-view of the game since the beginning of it's development and it does not, whatsoever, and will not ever, contain any ripped Graphics, Sprites, Code, HTML, Etc. All content belongs to that of N:E, minus the general Naruto Idea. *Edit* The styles of the sprites, I understand, represent that of which are found in similar DS games and such however, they are created originally by N:E's Pixel Artists and such. If the game's Sprites did not represent that of a Naruto style, It would more than likely not be called Naruto. The Sprites and Ideas are that of the game's visual appearance. Behind that, all you have to do is rename certain things and suddenly, you would have created a completely different game, such as many animes in the world do today. | |

So right now. I'm basically laughing my ass off at these comments "Yeah, its crap its a rip" and all that. Its pretty damn hilarious...You know...Go play another game then? Well, I've watched this game's developing for a while, even hosted the overflow server for a time. And I can asure you, that his game isn't a rip in any way.

Well i'm sorry if some of you may think i don't care, or that i'm a retard or that i'm useless at my job, you may be right, but i'm sorry i'm doing what i can and i do care..
For every game which currently goes into the pending area, IF i am the one to determine what it is, Then i will log into the game and spend several minutes to see if it represents any other games and also try to find out threw the community as well. It's not like i have a record of every one of the hundreds of games which i have had to check and know exactly what each had look like to be 100% sure, but i do have some knowledge now from seeing so many games, I would hope i should be able to determine at least 90% correctly. There are some games which may be obvious rips, but i make enough enemy's already from what i'm doing, and rejecting a game with hundreds of people may be a bit to big a stab at the Byond community, and because of this i make more people hate me. Rejecting hundreds of games does attract a lot of complaints, Hate, Anger and people trying to argue their side, sometimes people tend to have story's such as splitting ownership and both creators having the source and going their own way, and promising to further alter their games so they don't appear the same. Anyway i really am sorry, I know I've probably lost some friends, But i'm trying to do my job. | |

I don't understand everyone's viewpoint on "ripped" graphics here is. People in the business professionally do it all the time. Publicized resources can be found in a multitude of games, things such as the wilhelm scream are all over the place. To make things such as a HUD bar such a huge deal is just a simple squabble. The fact of the matter here is, most games on BYOND are hobby, and freely created. If people choose to use quality graphics that are found online, they should be free to do so without the threat of being harassed by members of the community.
On another note, it's obvious most of the sprites used in Naruto: Evolution are not taken from other material. Most of it is used in the same scheme and style; finding art like that would take months, if not years to assemble if one were not to create it. Yut Put and Sphinxe1, both of our pixel artists can vouch for their own creations respectively. The point of this thread, I can't exactly see, but I don't understand the reckless bashing of a hobby game, that simply stands to occupy someone's time for an hour or so at the max. If you choose to criticize every portion of game, then I point you to the door. Seeing as most programmers on BYOND have no professional experience and do not get paid for this kind of work. | |

Point being: It's not a rip, dilemma over, k? It's just like BYOND to over-dramaticate something, yes some graphics may of been used from other sources, is this ripping? No, if it's from a public icon database then it's totally legit. Do you know it's been taken from a copyright'd game to make it a rip? I think not. So everything from here on is an opinion. Case closed.
