So I felt like creating this thread since I myself am curious to see how much someone actually improves from practicing and learning a skill when you can clearly see from the start they aren't that great at it.
I'll be going through tutorials made for pixel artist and posting my results each time and hopefully this may also be inspiring to others also.
Best of luck to all of you who are pixel artist or starting.
This is isometric of course but also part of pixeling a good starting point for shapes and structuring I hope.
Side note: My monitor is darker then others so colors I use may vary to you and I, anyone may inform me if the colors I used look very saturated or you'd recommend other colors.
a few rules to this post which I hope you will follow is that I'm using this thread to track my own art and not that of others so I would hope nobody would mind not posting any of their art in this thread.

@Vixiv, Reference how exactly? The more detail on steps will help. What does reference mean in art compared to other things?

I want to hopefully help some mentors expand their art and help me as well if they would like too. I feel a master can sometimes learn more in some areas when they reteach what they have mastered to a student. Almost works like a self critique that may only be attained from having a student learn what you do in that light. Of course I may be wrong but when I had mentored others in tasks I was better at then them. I did realize and advance much higher in my owns skills possibly only because I then stopped to critique myself but this an opportunity to any who is interested. As always should you help me, I will happily help others in what I have learned also.

Oh i mean reference as in google up images of apples. I know it sounds dumb and you probably know what an apple is yady ya, but it does help a lot. That's one of the thing pixel artists can do to get better but they rarely do it. Also try a few more layers to round up the edges.

Sounds good I'll use an apple i have or an image, see if I can get my apple any better.
|
Im skeptical that you made the second apple....but if you did dang its 10x utter than your first.

If anyone knows a good set of tutorials to complete to get really good at pixeling let me know. Also if you think of some tasks that would help me improve greatly works also. Having more trouble with larger sized objects and them turning out more blurry then contrast.
