Wow, this is like almost a daily update thing!
Anyway, another video on more Vector/Angle stuff. I really enjoy these things! :3

EDIT:
That's pretty awesome. What language and also it lags a bit. You going to improve this?
Well it's in BYOND.
And hopefully I'll improve it! :3

I think the main reason it lags is because of the MouseEntered() stuff, but that's not my fault! D:
Wow this is very clever will you be making a library for this?
Maybe! :D
I didn't know there was any interest in it, but okay! (:
I'm not going to lie: I nay'd you.

Don't get me wrong, I love the video. I think it looks great, and am glad that you're showing things that BYOND is capable of doing. But my problem is this: BYOND is designed for tile-based games, MUD's, and Dungeon Crawlers. I think that we should stop putting a saddle on our cow, and trying to race a stallion, so to speak.

Long story short: I'm yea+ for the system, I'm nay- for the message it conveys.

Hmm... Someone tried to innovate on BYOND and you nay him? Are you trying to discourage other developers from innovating? Don't be ridiculous.

Developers need encouragement not discouragement, F0lak.
2nd. As i mean i agree with booty.
This has nothing to do with discouraging anyone. As I said, I think it's a neat system, and like that he's showing off things like this. The reason I nayed him is because I feel that what things like this are doing is trying to put BYOND in the mix where it simply doesn't belong. The suite isn't designed for things like this, and as such should not be used for it.

You would never see someone try to supe up a smart car for a demolition derby.

That is bullshit, and you know it.

Who are you to say what a platform or a language should be used for? Why is it in your charter to explicitly discourage development and creativity?

Why not use your own creativity to think how you might use such a system in your own game. Why not ask how Oasiscircle might be able to make this into a public library for other developers to use? Why not brainstorm potential use models for this system?

You would never see someone try to supe up a smart car for a demolition derby.

You would tell them to their face that "a smart car isn't designed for things like that, NAY!" Innovation comes from people who think beyond specifications and public expectations.

Creative and innovative developers should be helped and encouraged.
Shameless plug:

If the MouseEntered() problem that you speak of is that you're using it for aiming, might I suggest a better way?

HDK Mouse & Keys
Looks impressive to me. :D
Right, aside from showing myself off, it looks great and I'd love to play whatever game you make out of it.
Thanks to everyone who posted your thoughts! I made another video about a possible game/use for the system. Think multi-player, because I think this system might be able to reasonably handle it. But that has to be tested before I can prove that. (: Maybe without the flamethrower, but eh.
That is bullshit, and you know it
No, it isn't.

Who are you to say what a platform or a language should be used for?
I'm a user with an opinion, just like you are, and I feel that BYOND should focus on its strengths. Just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should be done. Sure, BYOND can do these things, but it's not one of it's strengths. Have you ever heard the term Jack of all trades, Master of none?

Why is it in your charter to explicitly discourage development and creativity?
"Long story short: I'm yea+ for the system"

Why not use your own creativity... models for this system?
As I've already stated, I feel this is not one of BYOND's strengths, and that we should spend our time focusing on its strengths.

Creative and innovative developers should be helped and encouraged.
I agree with you, and as I've said several times now, I think it's a neat system. If it turns out that he can make a proper game from it, then I'll cede my point on the topic.
Also, HDK: I'll look into integrating your system! It looks a lot more reliable! (:
Just throwing out my approval of HDK's library, it's really neat.

It 100% is.

Tell how you are NOT trying to discourage him... oh wait you are.

My god, I think I should just take your quote: "Just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should be done." and frame it in some demotivational poster. I can't even believe you just wrote that... This isn't meth or cocaine, pal.

Here's something to consider. If you thoughts of having a career as a software engineer, just stop now. Seriously, if you thought you might want a career in something that requires some any amount of creativity, you might as well just give up.

What you can do is get a job as a janitor at WalMart and take orders from a $10/hr manager. He can tell you _exactly_ how to wipe and wax the "tiles", you will obey him to the T because even if you could do it differently, doesn't mean it should be done.
F0lak; Tom, Dan, LummoxJR; they've built us a creative system, a system that we are free to use as we see fit. I can guarantee that the reason the system was made was to invoke creativity and I can also guarantee you that they never dreamed of some of the things that people have done with BYOND.

When Rare made Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, I can guarantee you that they never imagined their users creating transformers, AA turrets, walking mechs, and ten-stage rockets.

I'm sure when Notch added Red Stone circuits to Minecraft, that he didn't imagine in his wildest dreams that someone would use it to create a working computer.

My point being, it's a sandbox. Let the kids play and don't be a prick when they reconstruct the Taj Mahal.
Zomg guys. Just saying, did a little multi-player testing and it worked pretty nice for me having a shit internet connection and the host being in Europe.

So multi-player is definitively possible.
...This is fun. (:
