Alright. I've used Byond for several years, and this is the first time I've run into this particular problem, and also the first time I've ever had to use the Byond Help forums. I'm unsure of exactly what format I'm supposed to post stuff in, but I'll just explain the problem, because it's a bit late to find the template and I don't think there's an edit option.

For the last few days, whenever I have logged into Byond, it's spent a good amount of time registering the pager as offline. Then, when the pager actually logs in and allows me to look at my friend list and preferred games, I am incapable of adding new friends to the friend list and cannot connect to any games. When I try, I receive a message that reads, "BYOND central is not accessible." If I input the server link manually, it registers, but fails to connect; this problem appears to abate every few hours and allows for the blue Byond box to come up, but this box always fails to actually connect.

I am using the most recent version of Byond. This problem has come up on multiple games. Even when I try to log in through the hub of the game itself, I am incapable of connecting. Clearly, I am connected to the internet; I'm on it right now.

I have already tried several methods of fixing it. First, I went through and checked all of my firewalls to make sure that they hadn't blocked Byond; they had nothing in place to do so. Then, I pinged the Byond hub itself; my ping repeatedly timed out, but then something odd happened. The command prompt suddenly displayed a message, three or four lines long. It was on screen for a second or so, but then the command prompt closed without explanation. Even upon later attempts, I've been unable to figure out what the text reads. It closes too damn fast.

I'd really like some help with this problem; in the past, I've been able to fix them on my own, but this problem has been annoyingly persistent. Thank you.

Hi RPTroper,

While it will likely have similar results, can you run a tracert on the BYOND hub to see if you are able to connect to tesla.byond.com [50.22.142.19]?

To do this: Start > Run > Type: cmd > OK > Type: tracert hub.byond.com > Press: Enter.

If the trace starts timing out, or getting stuck between servers, then it is likely that this is a problem with your Internet Service Provider, and you'll have to contact them and inform them of the problem in order to resolve it.

Good luck!
