Well i'm looking for some Anime appreciating people =P - i want some Anime friends :O lol
I am a pretty big Anime fan, I'll watch most Shounen, Mecha, Horror, Action, Comedy as well as more deep psychological and disturbing.
It just so happens i will watch 90% of the anime i come across and i nearly always enjoy it, but i don't seem to have many/any people to discuss anime on that big a scale with.
Is the post pointless? or will i discover some Anime fans around here, I kind of feel like i need to go join some anime appreciation site/forum but i thought i'de give Byonds community which i'm familiar with a stab in the dark :).

Hey SSX :) yeah Byond has always had Plenty of people interested in Anime.
Well i seem to struggle to find anyone who shares the same extent of enjoyment from anime as i do, i know plenty of people who only watch the main airing shounens or others who watch the odd anime or specific genres, I do not know many who are open minded to try different genres and enjoy it in all it's forms. to discuss old and new anime ans make suggestions etc. | |
I used to watch anime vigourously when I was younger (namely Dragon Ball, Outlaw Star, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc) but it's been a while since I've sat down and watched one. I've grown rather displeased with how ridiculous most anime are with fan-service. The last anime I watched all the way through was Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

I used to watch anime when I was a kid, but I've now in my late 20's put my previous anime-viewing self to shame. I'd say that I've lost count on how much time I've put into it over the last couple of years, but there are sites to record such progress :P http://www.anime-planet.com/users/Balzack

Jaredoggy i'm following the same pattern, I'm in my mid 20's and i am watching a lot more anime than i used to.

I don't watch a ton of anime but I do like it. I steer clear of a lot of the typical shows like dragonball, inuyasha, naruto, and whatever. I can appreciate them but I don't like when they are very exaggerated with speech and silliness :P

i watched Captain Tsubasa since i was 4 years old, and now im 17 and still watch it from time to time, too bad they are not continuing the anime but they say the manga is being worked on which im not too sure about.
I watch it before any Football(Soccer) match i play just to get me all heating up | |
Nice, Sports anime are good for that sort of thing :) Quite a few which i really enjoy, I've seen 2 other football(soccer) anime, Knight in the area which is questionable and Giant killing which was pretty good :)
Anime is generally aimed at teenagers and above, so! i never really discovered it before i was a teenager unfortunately :( | |
only few football animes are good but some others piss me off like Eleven thingy , its like u see a 10 years old looking char flying up in the air and spinning creating atornado then shoot it then comes another character and adds a spell to that ball which makes it a flame tornado, srsly dbz is more realistic, these kind of animes make me hate animes

Lol i'm not familiar with that one, but yeah i really loved prince of tennis but they started turning the skills into super power attacks etc which.. did seem unavoidable by how much everyone kept improving lol, but it went a bit overboard and removed a bit of it's original charm
Giant killing is pretty accurate though :) no special tricks just talent, a good team combination and a very strategic and clever coach :) | |
My favorite sports anime is Chihayafuru. Those Karuta battles get pretty intense! I'm really looking forward to the simulcast of the new season that's starting next month. In fact I think it's the only new anime I'm excited about for the winter season.

But there's nothing wrong with slice of life for me :).. well unless it's completely girl related.. and there's not enough comedy to counter balance that. = then i wont be enjoying myself much lol. | |
