I'm interested in renting a dedicated server for a game on byond. Unfortunately, I'm somewhat new at the whole process.

What software do I need for this and what kind of services are required for a byond server?

Also, if anyone has any hosting services they'd recommend, that'd be great.

Also, does anyone have an idea on the amount of bandwidth I would need? The game's entire hosting file/resource is just shy of 100mb and at peak hours our game has around 60-70 players online at a time and maybe 20-30 in the down hours. Weekends we hold events which can get us even more.

We have some new 3.0GHZ, 10GB SSD, 2GB RAM servers available, Priced at the same as the current 1GB server.

Currently Eternia Roleplay is being hosted on one of these servers you can check the speed here - http://www.byond.com/games/WritingANewOne/EterniaPrologue

As for bandwidth you won't need all that much for a normal game, but with a large resource file like that I would suggest hosting it off the actual server you don't want to bog it down if 10 people decide to join and have to download that 100mb file..

[EDIT] as for software we install and manage the servers for you, we also provide an easy to use web interface to upload/download files / saves and to start stop the game.

We also allow a dropbox feature to backup save files.
For the resource files, you can upload them to dropbox then set the preload_rsc var of your client to avoid bogging down the server when a player downloads them.
