Something turned me off of this band a long time ago so I never gave them a chance, but now that I've given them a chance, I have to say that they have sang some of the best songs I've heard in a while.
I suggest downloading "Pet" by them. It's an awesome song, and very unique.

If they were really awesome you'd tell us to buy a CD with that song on it
No, because who buys CDs when they have no money? And I assume everyone is like me....
That, and downloading is faster, easier, free, and you don't have to get up from your computer. :P
It'd be easier for me to find the money for a CD than to find one online to download probably >_>
I also prefer to try before I buy, especially with things like music. I bought the Nine Inch Nails CD when every song I heard come from it was good.
A Perfect Circle- 3 libras. Good song in my opinion, good band though. *thumbs up*
I spoke with members of A Perfect Circle about people downloading their music (before they were big - I was backstage with them because they were opening for a Nine Inch Nails concert), and they didn't really appreciate it. At all. In fact, they swore about it a lot.
Why? Let me tell you the backstory.
We were hanging out at a Nine Inch Nails concert because my cousin keyboarded for them forever, so we were allowed backstage. We were just chilling with A Perfect Circle and two or three people from NiN. Some guy walked up and said to the lead singer of A Perfect Circle, "Man, I love your music!" The lead singer was confused. "Our album isn't out yet," he replied. "Well, I downloaded it on this thing called Napster." I was around ten years old, and everyone near me cursed this guy out. They were a struggling band, trying to make it, and they couldn't afford for people to download their music. I'm not against downloading music, but I cannot download a song by A Perfect Circle. |
I don't know. I almost think that some bands won't make it if it weren't for the internet spreading their music. Especially with how the radio is these days, even if people are listening to them for free, they need all the popularity they can get.
I personally buy CDs because 1) I am lazy and don't want to spend the time on downloading everything and then spend time making discs, and 2) I like to support the bands. I know I'm not alone on that, I think that's how the majority of people are. I personally only download music when I can't afford it (I wouldn't be giving them money anyways if I can't afford it) or when I want to hear the band before I buy their CD. I personally would still be thinking APC was some bad emo band if it wasn't for me hearing one of their songs (Pet) on Pandora. Once I heard thaat, I heard 3 libras. I am now going to buy thier CD when I can afford to. |
I can see someone downloading like one or two songs from a CD but I don't like how there are people who download all of the music from various CDs constantly just to save money. That's icky o_o
There are plenty of websites that allow you to download the music legally. I don't feel bad about downloading music illegally. Why? Well, I don't own CDs, I don't buy CDs, I wouldn't buy CDs, because I don't care to. This is not because I could just download the music all I wanted, but rather because I am not big into music. I only use the radio in my car, and at home I normally use online radio. I get bored with the same music over and over again. If I spend $15 on a CD, I want to be able to hear it for a month without getting bored. Because I could get Satelite radio if I wanted to spend money on music, and keep up will all the music I could handle.
I download music, then buy the album when I see it in the shops. Otherwise it'd be damn rude.
Ben, are you kidding me?
APC was never a "struggling band." Every fan of Tool instinctively flocks towards APC because of Maynard... they were pretty much never without fans. Also, if there is any reason Maynard & Co. wouldn't want people downloading their music it's because they would be taken out of their intended song order. But, I could be wrong, and you could be telling the truth even though every bit of logic points against you. |
