Descriptive Problem Summary:
If you close Dream Seeker while it's minimized and open the same game again, any pop-up windows (Say prompts and the like) will not appear.
Numbered Steps to Reproduce Problem:
Open any BYOND game.
Minimize it.
Close it while it's minimized.
Open again.
Click something that will open a prompt. The Say verb is perfect.
Expected Results:
Prompt appears somewhere usable.
Actual Results:
Prompts are off-screen and require largely-unknown keyboard shortcuts to reach on XP, and appear completely unreachable on W7 and simply do not work.
Does the problem occur:
Every time.
When does the problem NOT occur?
Closing without it being minimized.
Workarounds:
On XP, a combination of keyboard shortcuts can allow you to move the window, but this is not possible on W7.
Restarting Dream Seeker completely fixes it. I think the best way to fix this would be to automatically reset the windows and such when it closes.

1: These: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/126449
2: It restores to the previous size that it was originally. 3: Nope. 4: 1338x768 5: Either right-clicking it and closing it, or forced shutdown due to unrelated issues. Since I can't code for crap, I'll say this. If you log into a Roleplay Unlimited game, minimize and then close it, the glitch happens. I'm not sure if it only happens on that since I can't name any other games that use such popups on startup. |
1) I'm still not sure which specific shortcut you're referring to. A general list doesn't really answer my question.
2) That's not what I asked. You said the prompts are off-screen; I'd like to know where off-screen they are exactly. |
I've found a different set of steps to produce a problem with alerts that appears to be related to this bug. I'll post a bug report on it with a demo in a bit.

Please retest in 481. Chowder found an issue that looks identical except for the fact that it does not involve closing DS completely. I suspect it's the same issue but your mention of closing leaves some room for doubt.

Also further info that would be helpful:
1) Which keyboard shortcuts are you referring to?
2) Where is the window positioned before you move it back onto the screen?
3) Do you happen to have multiple monitors?
4) What is your display resolution?
5) Which method did you use to close the game? I tried right-clicking on the taskbar item and hitting Close from its menu, and I also tried closing it from the pager.
It's still possible this is just an intermittent issue that affects only you and certain other users, but if that's the case you might be able to provide the key information that finally quashes this bug.
