I remember a few years ago, it was announced what the average byond user's screen resolution was, based on web traffic.

I was hoping to get a more recent data point :D

1. 1366x768 27.91%
2. 1024x768 11.94%
3. 1920x1080 9.40%
4. 1280x1024 7.76%
5. 1600x900 7.49%
6. 1280x800 7.02%
7. 1440x900 6.67%
8. 1680x1050 4.06%
9. 1360x768 2.61%
10. 1024x600 2.10%

For the period November 1st - December 1st 2012.
How can so many people still have such a low resolution. Its scary. I don't think I know anyone outside of byond that has anything below 1080p (1920x1080). The laptop I'm on right now is even higher than that.

And thanks for the data point.
No problem. I suspect a lot if it is is mid/low range laptops. I have seen some BYONDers with very ghetto setups though, triple screen CRTs and such.
I am still on a 40 lb CRT that maxes out at 1024x768 myself.
-_- yea..mines smaller.
What? iPods have higher resolutions than that. Seriously.
My laptop's is 1280x800...
mine 1366x768
I'm at 1440x900....where did this 1366 number come from? Or I suppose I should ask, when did people start using it so much?
It's a fairly low wide-screen aspect resolution, so I'd guess on 13/15" screens for laptops.
Most screens these days are have a 16:9 aspect ratio and the 1366x768 is very common. The 16:10 thing has been on its way out, taking with it the 1280x800, 1440x900 and 1680x1050 resolutions. Newer screens are pretty much all 1366x768, 1600x900, or 1920x1080, the last of which can be very hard to find on laptops < 17".

Those 1024x768 and 1280x1024 are your 4:3 CRT and old LCDs. The 1024x600 is of course the 10" and smaller netbooks.
when i went to buy this new dell laptop n5220, most of the laptops that i found were 1366x768, 1280x800 are gone now.
Times are a-changin' :/
