It be nice if we had an option to have different color schemes to try out instead. Many people have issues with the color scheme because white starts to bother many people after some time of viewing. It induces eye strain etc. While I understand that this wouldn't be a top priority, it be nice to have on the back burner. (Hell I be happy if it was a slight offwhite/gray like the sidebars etc or just different ones to choose from.)
They should allow us to customize the color-scheme on our own, and then set the default to whichever colors are most commonly used. I don't mind the general background being white, but vast majority of things should have a background color of their own, not only to bring them forward and catch attention, but to make things more easily readable and visually separated. Like the Data, Status, Message, and Add a Comment sections on this page.
EDIT: Also, I think the puke green color that marks things as unread needs changing.
EDIT 2: As somebody else pointed out, the page to buy a membership is probably the best looking one on the site. It has a subtle graphical image in the background that ties the page together. Most of the things you can interact with are graphical in some way, instead of just being plain text links. It isn't just massive the whiteness of wordpad, and the bold text is crisp and easy to read. It also has a nice layout, giving you the important information you want up front.
