Poll: How often should I post about updates?
The polls are now closed.
This is basically to refresh my "Recent Poll" box. But I would really like to know!

I voted for every 2-4 days, but daily would be just as great too, because of how fast you complete stuff!

Daily - BYOND Staff getting sick of your posts and banning you from the front page. I know the Daily thing was kind-off an exaggeration on *exactly* how much I'd be posting. More like bi/tri-daily really. I don't even complete anything every day. Really, I'm starting to aim for a once-every-5 day updating schedule so that the posts have some bulk to them, because I don't think I'd get banned from the front page as long as there was good relevant content in each post. |

You should post about updates when there are enough changes to talk about. That's what I was kinda going for with the "No clear update schedule" option. |
"No clear schedule" could imply you're not working under a schedule, have no actual milestones, or are just plain slacking on developing your game.

Daily - BYOND Staff getting sick of your posts and banning you from the front page. What? BYOND is a site based around a game development tool. The BYOND Staff would not ban someone for posting information pertinent to game development, no matter how often. That being said, Daily updates would be a lot for readers to keep up with, and that's why most keep update information limited to weekly at the quickest. I myself am with SAX and Verm on this. Post when you have new information. We don't want you posting every day/week/month to tell us the same thing we read about last time. |

Maybe for the people who don't want to click as many times as it takes to get to the development log, you could simply post every few days a copy of the most recent updates, with a description on what it'll be like.

Which reminds me, I should probably put that in a better place rather than simply on the hub. I'll probably use up my other Custom module to put it on the left, or something. |
What are you doing out of the kitchen, Gary? get back in there and make me some more LPs.

I find the Spontaneous Update Post method to be quite entertaining and doesn't become a natural habit that will eventually bore me. Just so long as there's actually some updates now and then.
A set schedule reminds me when I read the newspaper, pretty much the same stuff over and over again. |
I like the "post only when you have something interesting to tell us" formula myself. I don't follow it for my blog though.

I'm not entirely sure on a specific time duration, but I wouldn't go for one anyhow.
Don't force yourself to post an update within 2 days, it may demotivate you on doing so. |
