i started learning 3D game design using Unity3D, im doing this because later on i wanna create a naruto mmorpg, but now i will stick with small projects just to get me familiar with JavaScript, so id like to know if any one wanna start this adventure with me, we watch vids and tuts together, create a small team, make small projects and later on advance to MMORPG level,

if you wanna do that, add me on

To make a Naruto MMORPG youd need a license from the naruto company(dont know their name) and I bet they wont give it off for cheap(just saying). Also the best way to learn unity would be through books like :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ Unity-3-x-Game-Development-Essentials/dp/1849691444/ ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353870418&sr=8-1

and this is to learn the advances :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unity-3-Game-Development-Hotshot/dp/ 1849691126/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1353870418&sr=8-3

also a good tutorial video website is http://www.unity3dstudent.com/

Anyways good look learning unity.

thanks for the links and tuts, did u learn unity3D, or ur on another Game Engine?
Well I am still learning about unity(you can never know everything about a language/engine). And I am mostly using Unity3d at the moment why ?
just asking... :D, btw do u knwo any team of beginners who i can join and learn faster?
Not really. I learned by practice, books and videos so I would suggest you to do the same. best way to learn is to start out doing a basic project. Something that requires you to use the skills you learned for example lets say you learned about GUI so I would set out to make a nice looking gui system. Then let s say I learned about AI or something id move onto learning an AI system and so on until you put together a game.
would u suggest coding using C# or Java?
Well Javascript in unity seems to be more like byond scripting is so if you want to get into the development faster I would suggest learning Javascript but since you seem to be into the online game genre I would go for C# since people seem to think it is more efficient in unity and it is a good language to know to write the server programs/scripts for the games. Also knowing C# can be alot more useful if you decide to go outside of unity and write programs, games etc for windows, windows phone and xbox

There are no speed distinctions between using C# or JavaScript in Unity. I prefer Unity's documentation over tutorials and books, because they're updated and officially represented, while the books aren't, and don't contain any new features or every detail. Also, over half of the people that make videos on Youtube have no idea what they're doing, same for BYOND Tutorials, same for Unity tutorials, and so on.

The **** are you doing?
Unity documentation isnt bad and I like it myself. Although the books teach you more precisely on the topic. For example if you want to learn about HUD inventory you wont find it in the documentation. You will have to look up seperate topics and piece the skills you learned from them to make it. I do agree with the video comment though. Most people dont know what they are doing and are either copying from a book or library to try to get compliments for the video although the video site I posted above is run by a unity administrator and programmer(at least I think hes a programmer for unity too) so he knows what hes doing and why.
Not trying to discourage you, but do you realize the creation pipeline for 3d games is 10 times more difficult than pixel art? Even if you were an expert programmer and already had your entire game finished with temporary place holder art, you'd be struggling to find 3d artists to make all of the content. Not only would they need a lot more money than just peanuts, they'd also need a lot more time.
He could make a 2d game which would work a lot better in unity3d than it does in byond although it would require alot more scripting and it would also need networking scripts. He does mention a 3d game which could take years to make so fireking does have a point.
i have some friends that are learning 3D modeling, and i myself thinking of getting into modeling, cuz it seems more entertaining, however iv found some modelers so i think i will focus on programming for now.

3d modeling is not that hard. If you want to dive into 3d world, you should concentrate on both from the beginning.

Godspeed,
Regards.
My 13 year old cousin 3d models, shes into that MMD Vocaloid stuff if that's what its called, literally makes models for it, I feel like a noob messing around with 2d sprites still because of her.
As burael said, 3D modeling is kinda easy if u understand the 3d modeling program your using.

I can create things easily in blender and import it to unity, but my little cousin messes with bones and all that, shes just skilled with the program, like someone could be with a bike or keyboard, its her everyday thing.
Good looking graphics include not only good model, but also good quality texture, normal map & other maps plus a lot of shader programming (Unity partially takes care of last part).
Oh god, 3D modeling is SOOOO much easier than pixel art. Honestly you're better off learning C#. The language isn't that hard to grasp and it's a pretty clean language at that. With 3D modeling your ability to animate is about 7,000x easier than doing it with pixel art.

But realistically you shouldn't make a 3D game unless you're making a 3D game, you know what I mean? 3D games take a lot more work than a game made in byond, that much is clear. But it's all really about style. Generally though, the only games that have intense fighting in it and are 2D are Fighting games.

Most modern fighting games are 3D. And I don't mean they just "look" 3D, they allow you to move in all directions.

Back on topic, I wish you luck. Although, aren't you working on like three BYOND projects right now? :)
