Finally decided to start putting some work into learning to code in DreamMaker. I have the graphic part down but the coding i was totally new to. But with a little help from my BFF i was able to fix some overlay problems i was having as well as learn some of the coding process.
I'm still a total nub but i thought i'd share with yunz guys what i have so far! Hoping to make a Reccetear type genre game. If you're not famiular with Reccetear check out this link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/70400/
My idea is to switch it up a bit. Incorporate a multiplayer feature where you can either be the shop owner, the dungeon runner, or a farmer. All 3 of the "classes" will all be working with one another per say.
Shop owner buys either off the marketplace board which would be almost completely community driven, or the dungeon runners or farmers, in turn for profit. The Dungeon runners fight for items and rares to sell to the market or the shop owners and the farmers sell crops or make stuff from crops to sell to marketplace or dungeon runners or even the shop owners.
It'll be a type of economy tycoon simulation i guess... Earning levels which increase different stats and grant bonuses. Shop Owner gain merchant levels which grant store expansions and haggling becomes easier etc etc. Dungeon Runners gain stat bonus levels that allows them to become stronger and gain better spells and enchantments for helping find items and fight monsters. Farmers gain levels to benefit their farming and cooking etc etc.
Lemme know what you guys think :) Also here is a screenie so far of what i got done :D

Sounds like a pretty good idea but the community will have to be pretty good and active. Also, pretty nice pixel art :). Though some turf can be fixed up just a bit to make them more seamless.

yeah :) and thanks for the feedback :D It'll be community driven but also i'm thinking of maybe having little vendors as well. Maybe where they can still gain lvls even when people aren't around. Just throwing ideas out atm :) Still trying to find a good basis haha. But again thanks for the feedback!!! :D

Maybe have it so when dungeon runners sell to a store, they gain more profit and the shop owners can gain a bigger profit from getting the items from the dungeon runners then buying it from the venders, that might sell stuff for higher then necessary.

GREAT IDEA :D I like how that sounds! But yeah some of my tiling isn't the best so i'll prolly end up tweaking a bunch of it later on LOL! I can see alot of seams so i'll prolly have to go into photoshop and acually mess around a bit to make it more seamless... It seems like the darker grass has alot more noticeable seam them the lighter so that'll prolly be one thing i'll need to fix up lol

Thanks Kaimana! I'm still messing around with some stuff and as i said in last post the grass is definitely gonna need work with the tiling issues :P But i'm overall pretty happy how things are coming along. Coding process will take me a bit to grasp but it'll definitely be interesting to see how it turns out in the end :P

Your pixel work is nice, and your idea sounds like a nice one! Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays :D!
