Tonight's Casual Quest update clears up some bugs, and the backlog of custom character orders that had built up. I originally figured this game would receive as little financial support as my other projects, and I'd get an order or two a month - something I could keep up with in my spare time. I was not prepared for the volume of requests I received, so I am no longer offering the $5 custom character option. You may be able to get me to make you a character, but be prepared to negotiate a fair price. It's not much of a loss for players, as there's still an extra 16 fun and unique classes available to subscribers, for a total of 31 classes.

A big thank you to Neblim, who has purchased several subscriptions as gifts, and has pledged to gift another each month for a year. In response to the contribution, I've made a Website for CQ. At the moment it only has info on the classes, as well as download and subscription info for people new to BYOND. Credit goes to D4RK3 54B3R for portions of the website. Also, two changes that players should appreciate are that pirates now move faster, as they are a pure rogue class now, and the Hell region no longer has giant demons around wave 60.

Now that I've got that out of the way, I can focus on some promised features. Consider this the first half of a two part update, with the second half to come in the next couple days.
Srsly. Start linking to the hub in your posts about casual quest, seeming as it's not on your member homepage.
Broken link for the Casual Quest .zip download on the CQ Website.
Both issues address. Thanks for the comments.
Yeah, $5 for a custom class was really cheap :p - not sure how time consuming it would be for you, but I'm guessing over a few hours.

I'm still interested in a custom class if you'd like to negotiate a new price. :)

I wouldn't raise prices too much, though. Some players such as kids might not be able to spend that much on a regular subscription, let alone a game from their parents. Some of us just actually have a job. The reality of the appeal to buy things like this may appear too pricey to normal players in general while others may be seeing as a "contribution" to your awesome work. Not telling you what to do but I'm just mentioning how Byond's / Outside player base views things.

Keep up the good work Iain.

Btw: I would like to report the "download" link (not the zip) is broken for Regressia if you haven't seen my post already.

We're not talking about regular subscriptions, which are still only $5. We're talking about the custom characters.

I've tried to fix this. BYOND is having some issue with my file, don't know the cause, but I'm hoping it has something to do with the cache. If it doesn't go away in a couple days, I'll contact the staff.

I'm aware and I still believe that could cut into your profits for being so high. I could be wrong though, maybe the public would rather pay $15 for a custom class than a $5 subscription that gives them +10 new classes. I know you're swamped with custom requests as of late, but I doubt it will last too long. Again, I'm not trying to sound pushy, just that I understand the value of a dollar, and that is what I believe as far as the price goes. People paying for stuff like this mainly comes from Byond (though I think the 8-bit theme is what got me most) fandom and the realization good developers need to get paid sometime. :) I'm sure there are others that bought the subscription / custom that had that in mind as well.

Just continue what you're doing, even if you raise the prices. The prices doesn't affect me honestly...I'll still contribute what I can. :)
