After seeing so many negative user reviews of New Vegas I thought I'd just throw my opinions on the game.

From the moment you're thrown into the game and play for 5 minutes it's obvious the game uses the gamebyro engine, all the graphical bugs which come with the engine I didn't notice at all as well as the savefile bugs which came with the PC version, and I played through the game two times over!

I don't know if anyone noticed but the voiceover dialog for characters also seems to have improved from Fallout 3 as well which is a bonus.

The story, which I actually enjoyed more than Fallout 3's, I found better because there's a lot more moral choices to be made. Basically you're trying to help a faction or yourself take over New Vegas, so far I've seen over 5 different ways you can do this, one of these is just doing everything solo and selfishly but with a touch of good/bad karma as you go.

Additional stuff Obsidian added are workbenches where you can craft different ammunition for your weapons which I didn't use because my surplus ammo seemed to be doing me just fine.

I think after not playing FO3 for so long and then jumping into New Vegas, it felt like it's own standalone product (which it is!) and is worthy to be called a Fallout game and I enjoyed it.

Another awesome game I've bought recently is minecraft, after it being recommended to me by a lot of friends and watching youtube videos I finally bought it and I've been playing it nonstop since last week! I don't have any large scale creations to show yet since I'm still getting into the game but I'll post some of my smaller creations in a later post! But if you haven't played this game, go play it! The Classic version is free so what have you got to lose?

In other related news, this week Friday I'll be getting Fable 3 and The Force Unleashed II. Coming out on the same day is kinda good but kinda bad since I don't know which to play since both these sequels I've been waiting for!

The only other game I'm looking forward to this year is Assassins Creed Brotherhood, and it's not just because of the multiplayer, which is an awesome addition! It's because of the continuation into Ezio's and Desmond's story which I've been following since the first game.

and I leave you with a list of other games announced for 2011 release which I'm looking forward to playing:

- Firefall
- Star Wars: The Old Republic
- Brink
- The Witcher 2 (oh yeah!)
- Dragon Age II

if a game isn't listed here then I'm probably not interested in it.
Although probably getting on the old side now, Call of Duty: World at War is incredibly fun if you can get a LAN going (or you have a decent internet connection). Nazi Zombie mode is incredibly fun, though we still haven't gotten past the eleventh level.

Though the sniper rifles still piss me off. For some reason I can't fathom, the character can hold a standard rifle dead still and shoot a guy from across the map, but he can't hold a sniper rifle to save his life...

Yeah, I'm generally only interested in cooperative games. If you know of any good ones, let me know. =)
I just got New Vegas last night, so far it plays as Fallout 3 did. I even got the VATS bug that I used too: where it would stay in the action screen for an extended period of time (preferably about two minutes longer) before it finally gave in; only happened once, phew.

The only noticeably different thing to me, and it's an obnoxious one, are the other benches/campire. I understand all of that is part of Wasteland survival.. living off the land, and such but really? They could've implemented this feature so much better to me, and eased it in so much more.

I'm into the game, but I'm still getting used to the other tid bits that were added to make the game more realistic. I only played it a few hours, so we'll see as I progress.

Don't know if it's your cup of tea but have you tried Dead Rising 2 co-op? I played for over 10 hours straight with my friend just screwing about basically, doing anything we felt like doing. Also try playing co-op in Crackdown or Crackdown 2, it's fun.

Call of Duty isn't my kind of game. I'll admit that Nazi Zombies was fun with friends though. I just don't like linear FPS games, I prefer the freedom to do whatever I choose. New Vegas is nonlinear so it doesn't count =P

As for sniper rifles in New Vegas; yeah it can be annoying that your character can't hold it dead still, even when you're crouched which makes it alot easier. But the sniper rifle is usually a 99% chance hit if your crosshair is on the enemy whereas with standard rifles you can still miss if your crosshair is on them and you're firing.

As I wrote in my post, I didn't even use the workbenches for specialised ammunition, I stuck with my surplus ammo and it took me all the way to the end of the game no problem. I guess mixing and matching ammo would make enemies a lot more easier to kill though.

As for campfires and mixing plants; meh.
I havent played the main story in new vegas...been too busy doing side missions
Redbox rents games out now. So just rent both of them for $2 and use that night to decide which is worth of purchase.

Call of Duty adds great accuracy with a standard rifle. I've come to realise that I can score way more shots at long distances using a still standard rifle than I can with a waving sniper rifle. Which is a shame, as I cross over to Call of Duty from Medal of Honour, which generally had still sniper rifles (making your shot completely accurate). So sniper battles, which is the kind of thing I'm interested in, are more frustrating than I'm used too.
i'm iffy on new vegas. it's basically a very large DLC; there's a lot of content in the game, which is nice, but they completely reused pretty much everything from Fallout 3, and didn't implement any new mechanics. especially weird when you consider that since they had to do zero engine work (and it's very clear that they did not do anything at all to it), and a whole lot less art work than most games considering all the texture and model recycling. the "survival" skill is just oblivion's alchemy ported into Fallout, and very badly at that. even more puzzling is how they managed to not only leave in a large swathe of bugs ranging from nuisances to extremely crippling to some players, but they managed to introduce more bugs of their own. it's a very buggy game.

i wouldn't recommend someone pay $60 for the game. something like $20-$30? yeah, if they liked fallout 3 a lot and don't mind all of its problems not being addressed at all
@Zaole Thats why its not called Fallout 5?

But yeah I liked new vegas I thought a pretty cool mission was "you'll know when it happens."

If you use the PC version and open it
with the G.E.C.K. you'll see every
asset from FO3 and it's DLCs. If you
look through the fallout 3 nexus,
you'll find everything New in new
vegas, except the map, in there,
including Weapon mods, Ammo creation,
and alchemy, plus more.

Fallout 2 anyone?
I believe it's called Fallout new vegas
because Bethesda claimed the name
Fallout 4 already. I also heard FO4
will be getting it's own engine.

I meant to say Fallout4 not 5 owell but yeah usually games only go up in a number after they are using a new engine now-a-days.
I've came to tell you, that your computer ban is either to old for DM or didn't work at all.

Could of been useful. We use a IP/Key ban but easily countered. Luckily my co-owner know hows to make one. XD
