Having seen the trailer for The Social Network in the theater a month or so ago, I had been meaning to look up its backing music. The lyrics were clearly Radiohead's Creep, and I had found out that the vocals were from an Belgian all girls choir group named Scala and Kolacny Brothers.

One thing of note, I definitely remember this song on rapid rotation during my college years -- too much time in my dormatory's lounge with MTV on I suppose. I simply hated the song, and have never been much of a fan of Radiohead since. Creep was a great song lyrically, but I find Radiohead's musical phrasing abominable and nearly unlistenable.

However, when a song is given proper phrasing and stripped of weird musical meandering, we find a rare gem where a remake far supersedes the original.

This is a remake of the original "vulgar" version of Radiohead's Creep by Scala and Kolacny Brothers:

I'm shocked. I too hated the original.
This is beautiful, but I can't agree that it surpasses the original; I'm not a Radiohead fan, but the song's original style is as it should be, given its theme. I guess I never had it shoved through my ears enough times to make me hate it.

This remains the greatest Radiohead cover I've heard/scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmfHHLfbjNQ Nude performed with dated electronics--it's worth watching the whole thing, but it may not be the texture you're looking for.

Thank you for sharing that, Lord Raven. That was fantastic!

I actually enjoyed this... despite my taste in music.
Hearing this song is a big flashback. Hearing this version validates my hate for most Radiohead music when sung by Radiohead and my love for the covers.

I direct you to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui2a2KTx60s for another great cover by these girls.

That is really good, man.
In this sense, my favorite radiohead cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eLj_sHt6fk
I don't actually like radiohead, but this song is pretty awesome.
I can't listen to this, the rent is too damn high.
