I'm typically not a fan of RPGs, but I'll play any game that is fun.
|
well since its tied I'll start up a quest type byond game and name it Quest Finale or a new type of byond game and name it Contract :DD

Hah! The ratio of original - rips - anime is terrible!

Actually there are Mr.Goobergoob. Just because you don't see them on the byond main page doesn't mean they aren't in existence.

You do realize that innovation can be achieved by the game's story line or concept right? Not just by choosing the type of game it is. So in other words I can ask for what type of game someone wants but it can but the idea of the game that would be something you've never experienced, seen, or heard of before. Indeed making innovant.

Focus more on coming up with an innovative gameplay concept as opposed to an innovative story concept. There could be a really good book that you liked because it's story was original, but you don't generally go back to it because you know the story and it's still just another book. However, you can get a game with a good story and an entirely new way to play that's unlike any other game and people will stay because you made something entirely new that hasn't been replicated.
People will want to stay there so they can experience that unique "hipster" feel. |

In accordance to your classified ads post you've made, seems like you're just recruiting others to create a game based off the ideas of what other people tell you, and that doesn't seem very fair to me, seeing as how you're not even paying them. I advise you to develop your skills, and make your own original game; preferably outside of BYOND. Actually I'm a decent programmer in C++ but going outward from byond is the idea for myself in the long run. For now I'm trying to hone my skills by creating any kind of game that is available to my benefit. It's just that for now I'm trying to improve while at the same time be a mass community pleaser. I don't see the harm in that do you? If this become a one hit wonder I'm alright with that. |

I understand where your're coming from but seeing what I've just stated your reply should be already known. |
It is funny how you guys talk about story concept or what game type. I have been on BYOND for almost 5 years and i have seen that most of the BYOND players prefers the game by its looking than the game's storyline, concept, etc.

All the games on BYOND thus far suck, so what. Depends how you look at it, if you were comparing them to say .. Skyrim or something large like that, then yes yes they do suck. |
Especially if we're talking about NEStalgia (--'). I'm not a hater but i hate this game! I have never seen such a boring game with so many fans. There is basicly nothing to do and there is no guide. If i at least knew why this game was popular i could have made mine 10x more popular.

It's popular because Silk knows how to advertise it unlike everyone else on BYOND who just .. stick to advertising it on the BYOND forums..
[EDIT] I find the majority of the games on BYOND boring, the social part is not so bad though. |
The only thing i found interesting in BYOND is the people. (--') Well some of them are money eater but some are nice as you said it's a pretty nice social community. But the worst thing in BYOND is that some Pokemon game stands at the top?!?! There is like people of 20 years old that play Pokemon. I would have understand if it was 12 years olds but 20?!?! This is like 5 years older than me and i don't even bother playing Pokemon!?!
