You apparently don't know what it means to for a game to be original do you? That means that the owner(s) of the game coded everything from scratch, all the icons are made form scratch, just put it like this: Every little thing about the game is used from scratch. You may like, scratch that, LOVE this game, but it's still a rip no matter how many changes she does to it, because it's being used from another source.

To tell you the honest truth, i'm friends with Saya. I respect her for updating the game unlike other games on BYOND, but that doesn't mean her supporters can go around calling her game Original. It's usually those people who cause trolls to call her those name's. So, if she wants to continue to have those kind of people follow her, then those are the kind of name's she's going to be called.

(yeah, sorry, it was getting a little long) I'm not calling it original. I'm just upset because people are calling it lame without even playing it. I'm the kind of guy who wants to protect his friends.

Then tell her top stop working on a crappy, stolen game. None of those sources have good code in them, and by working on them like she's doing, she's learning bad programming habits. So, help your friend.

Just like you have every right to play crap rips, i have every right to talk about how bad they are. If it were as simple as having two differing opinions on something (like say, liking and disliking foods) then it wouldnt really be much of a problem. But, when you have theft involved, its different. Working on a rip game makes you a ripper, simple as that.

Technically yeah, fangames are ripping off the owner of the intellectual property, but thats about as far as it goes when the rest of the game comes together, unless of course, you're ripping peoples art and programming, and everything else that makes a game a game.

Your post is entirely wrong however when it comes to original games.

Look. here's what i think: all those lame games, NGoA, BR, etc, are all 100% "original". BUT they're based on the manga/anime. that means they ripped the manga artists and anime producers without permission. BUS is a rip, BUT, unlike the rips that just change the name, Saya added stuff. new Vai masks, new verbs, custom rooms that only open for the one the room is for. SHE IS DOING HER BEST TO MAKE AN ORIGINAL GAME. how many rips do you see a completely different game than the "original" was?
