Bump. Anything new here? Feasibility status update?

That said, I feel like you are obsessed with the limitations of the toolkit. It is not so much that any single feature is necessarily that difficult, but that they beckon other, supporting features, introduce new bugs, and make this already enormous project even more so. You can mock us for releasing feature-thin updates, but my aim is to release a stable product. I think we've done rather well, given the complexity of the system. Since BYOND is always being tested on new platforms in a variety of scenarios, this is not an easy job and in fact takes up a great deal of time.
Forumn Account I think you are on the right track of morphing Byond into a 3d language. Seeing as byond is as powerful as any other language, why could it not be possible to implement new math, functions, etc... that morph the base byond into accepting and understanding 3d objects.

I believe that it would be to much work to rebuild the whole process all over. It would be less time consuming to build upon the 2d premise and incorporate 3d objects. I say this because in an isometric view you have a z level which can effect the height of objects. Thus, making them appear semi 3d. So if we can make isometric games that are 2.5d, why is it so difficult to move that last .5 to make byond capable of full 3d.

Forum Account left BYOND. However since leaving BYOND is impossible he will either be back or is already back and just using another key.
I have seen him post recently, I think he still at least checks if there are any updates to his posts.
As you can see from actually checking his post activity here, Forum_account's last post was almost a year ago.

Fortunately, Forum_account's availability doesn't affect the feasibility of the concept described in the original post.
