Made some decent progress in the last couple of days, I'm going to do my best to post regularly to keep everything on track. The deadline is looming already, set for sometime in October.
I'm not expecting much to be done by that time, most of the functional systems will be in place to be expanded on as necessary and it will lack any kind of map. I'll need to hire some artists to get the map and character stuff done. Honestly, there may not even be deck editing, just pre-made decks initially.
So what's been done lately?
- A lot of prototyping, trying to decide layouts and how players interact with the game in general. I'm terrible at this so it's taken longer than I wanted.
- Have database up and running, just saves player data but should be useful for other things later
- Basic chat system in place
- Removed XML for card loading, reverted back to hard-coding due to XML delaying game start up
- Few duel improvements
- Bunch of future ideas
Not a lot of stuff, but it's beginning to take some shape.
Today I'm going to focus on getting the interface fleshed out, testing player vs player duels, and possibly a few new cards.

Yeah, initially I used Deadrons XML library until I read somewhere that pif_xmlhandler was faster but both caused long delays of 30-90 seconds.
Don't get me wrong, they're both great libraries; XML just may not be suitable if I'm going to load one or two thousand cards as opposed to the 150 it has now. |

DMO will be up and running again this october? And also will Duelist Kingdom make a return this year too?

Work on the DMO go back very soon, I see.
And here I have a little question: Is there a chance that the new version of the DMO will appear Synchro summons? I know that probably is too early to ask such questions but I think it would be good to rethink this. The second thing which I consider relevant is that instead of adding unnecessary full papers is better to concentrate on adding to what happens to be fashionable that players can try to at least partially due to make their real decks. PS.:I'm Sorry for my english but i am from Polish and i must use Translator. |
There are no plans to add Synchro Summoning.
Cards that players want will take priority. I am working to get it ready for October. DK may or may not be ready by the end of the year. Difficult to say |
Im glad you're still working on DMO, it's a fun and easy going version of duel monsters that we all enjoied.
