Hi. My name is Jim, and I live in Cairns, Australia.
We have just been hit by Cyclone Larry - the most destructive cyclone we've ever had!
It hit about 150km south of where I live, so we got hit pretty bad. Roofs flattened, houses flattened, chickens flattened...
It's been pretty damn scarey, out of power for 4 days or so.
I lived through it, as did everyone else. There was thousands of close calls for alot of people, but hey, we're still alive!
Have you seen it on the news?

Hurricane Katrina made a whole city respawn.
|
I was trying to take the post seriously then I saw the "chikens flattened" part... and broke out laughing
It rained shrimp durring Hurricane Katrina! <_< |
Let's see, if Katrina made a city repop in approx. 600 ticks, then it should take Larry's victioms to repop in... 300 ticks.

lol, comparing Katrina to Larry, although everyone is doing it, can't really be done.
How many people were disadvantaged during Katrina vs Larry? Quite a different amount. Our entire state is made of just 4 million people, 20% of the whole country. The United states, I believe, has something close to 300 million(?) Cairns itself has just of a hundred thousand. Innisfail, which was where Larry was hit, I doubt has more than 20,000 people... |
The cyclone was bigger, but Innisfall isn't under sea level. That's the major difference. New Orleans would have been fine if the levees had been engineered properly.

We compair to two because we only care about the USA. Everyone else can get cancer.
