I'v tried (20 or so times) to make a chat bot using txt files and other sources in DM , and i wanted to know if it was possible , and or if anyone else has tried this. I'v had one that was taught over time and could learn 300 words and respond to about 1000 or so words or sentences , but that required tons of lists and vars.

Has anyone tried making a chatbot in DM?

Artemis did this I believe.
His page seems to be blank , I'v always been interested in AI's. And Programs that could learn , and fix there mistakes.
Crashed had a really good one he was showing off in Chatters for a while. Don't what happened to it though, but it was really smart.
JP made a chatbot some years ago that was pretty neat. Might talk to him about a efficient way to create one.

Artemis isn't a person, it's a program.

Oh , i read it as tho it was a person , sorry.
The trick is to host the bot at http://www.pandorabots.com and create a PHP script so that you can use world.Export to get a reply.

I made one in Java, which learns from people it observes in chat rooms (so it's really only as smart as the people around it). I'm trying to get IRC bridged with DM, so I can show off all of my neat java bots =P (among other things, of course).
