Well , since becoming a freshman and joining Highschool Algebra 1 is easier than i could of thought. It use's pretty much what any BYOND game would use with variables and formulas. I knew what our teacher was talking about for once.

~ Thanks BYOND.
Are you Shane?
Try to take a class in discrete math or combinatorics later in your HS career (you may have to find a jc/college). That field is both interesting and very useful in computing, just like algebra.
I bet posts like these make the BYOND staff smile. :)
You'll be needing algebra, so don't be lazy.

I regret not taking pre-calculus or into to calculus in High-School, and not paying attention to algebra.

I'm in pre-calc right now in High School, I feel a bit retarded in that class knowing sophomores and a few freshmen are in that class with me...
I found High School pre-cal to be absolutely 100% worthless. I don't even remember what I learned in there because I didn't use any of it in actual Calculus I and still haven't used any of it in Calculus II. The only worthwhile thing I got from pre-cal was a reinforcing of trigonometry. Calculus is a whole different ball game from pre-cal.

Haha, you don't have any freshmen in calc III? We did. That's more scary. :|
I feel left out. I was never able to take a class seriously if my teacher A) wasn't interesting, B) didn't take the class seriously, or C) spent more time worrying that I didn't show my work on elementary math than he/she did on actually trying to teach me something new.

Unfortunately, none of the teachers in our high school met any of those standards and in return, I couldn't hold an interest in the classes. This sucked because I was always the top of the math classes until reaching high school.
Algebra is one of the most important concepts. Even in later mathematics courses, even if you understand the concepts, you will be lost in the proofs/applications without algebra.

Haha, my professor is really neat. I never thought about it, but he proved a number times zero is zero, without using the definition. Hope ya got a teacher that actually "teaches" :P

Oh! And if your teacher says something just "is", or does not explain it - And you want an answer --> Force it out of him. Not.. Really, but make sure not to be comfortable with the "you just gotta memorize it" things. Unless the teacher just plain sucks... Some actually suck Haha

I agree.. Pre-cal was one giant review. Haha, only thing I "learned" was polar coordinates. I find calculus much more interesting - Except those delta/epsilon proofs. They are awesome, but god evil sometimes, Haha
I don't have anything with Algebra. But i have some graphic art courses. Going into grade 11.
sadly i failed algebra 2 years in a row (more on account that i never showed up) still byond helps with other stuff lol... (when i joined byond back in 05 i had a very very limited understanding of computers.... but now i repair broken computers and i dabble with c++... all thanks to byond)
