My grandmother called me the other today, she is going insane because her and my grandfather took one of my sisters in to meet their new Jr High teachers. What has her so upset? Whites being a minority. She was ranting and raving, because she said the black and Mexican to white ratio was 8 to 1. Is this really something to go so crazy about? She is trying to organize rallies to protest this. Seriously, what the hell, I know back in her days everything was segregated, but you have to realize it's the year 2010 eventually. If I didn't know any better I'd say it sounds like she's trying to rally for an anti-civil rights movement. She was seriously going crazy, she was yelling at me blaming it on my generation. Which is ridiculous, I don't know anyone from my graduation class with a kid older than 8. It was pretty funny though, if you could have heard her on the phone you would have laughed your ass off for sure.

If you don't mind me saying, I think it's a bit annoying of old people that still think that way. Hopefully and eventually that mindset changes, because that's the mentality that keeps us from moving forward as a society.

Well, I agree that it's annoying. I'd love to smack some sense into her if she wasn't old and a woman. You can't talk to these kind of people either. They won't listen to reason. I never understood the whole racist thing myself, it's baffling.

That mindset will change when they die. You can't blame old people for not changing how they think, because that's the society they were raised in and that's how human biology works. You just have to wait it out.

God I hate people like this. I used to work at an arcade in California and some disabled children came in. They only get to come in once a month and when they come in, they usually don't have a lot of tickets for prizes.
Since their field trips and entertainment is like state funded and they decide to spend their time and money at our arcade, I'd always give them extra tickets. Well this black guy was in the arcade one day awhile I was giving the disabled kids some extra tickets. After they got done, he came up and exchanged in like 10 tickets and wanted this 1000 ticket prize. I said, No Way, you aren't getting that. He started ranting and raving about how he just saw me do the exact same thing for those "retards". I tried to explain to him why I made a exception for the kids, but he wouldn't have it. Then he did the one thing I hate most, he used the race card, "It's because I'm black isn't it?!" I couldn't believe it. I was like, no, it isn't, but if you keep it up it will be. Now get out. He got really pissed off at that point and demanded my managers number, so I gave him the only number I had. Like at 8 at night I got a call at the arcade from him. He was trying to say I was calling him a nigger and stuff. I couldn't believe it. Are there really people out there that do this shit? When I informed him I was the only one on shift and who I was he was even more pissed off. I just kind of laughed him off and hung up the phone. I never saw him there in the arcade again and I couldn't have been happier. | |
It's not just my grandparents generation, it's the one after that too. Once they are both gone the U.S. will be so much better. It's too bad I'll be old myself by then and won't be able to enjoy it.

Eh, People are so stupid. Although, I do admit that I dislike the special treatment towards certain individuals.
I went to Middle School and I was nearly the only white kid there. There were about 3 other white guys I saw. And, regardless, I was treated with disdain. Why? I was white, and apparently being the minority made it possible to get fucked with. I do dislike it, being the minority rather sucks. Sure, many white males have plenty of opportunity, but for the white males that are in the position of the poorest people. We do not get shit. Honestly, what opportunities lie for us? Plenty of other races get scholarships and what not, I honestly have to rely on good grades(Hopefully) to get anywhere. Now, this comes to my point. Special Treatment based on gender, race, religion, and background is bullshit to me. If that were to end, I would see a change for the better. Im tired of black or female only colleges, scholarships for a select few, etc etc etc. I mean, honestly... Bunch of hypocrisy America is. I'd like to see a White Male only college? Ya right. Anyways, my point is - Special treatment based on background, gender, religion, race, etc is rather stupid. --------- I mean, I am a very low income white male, with horrible insurance and severe disease(Which Parkland Medical Center apparently sucks at receiving refferals). Must say, being looked at by the success of some people of my race really sucks. Damn people and their stereotypes... Honestly. | |

Again, I'm not saying it doesn't happen in predominately Caucasian schools..I'm just saying that it happens LESS
