Maybe casual, maybe a bit over the top. I don't have any pixel-movement sidescroller libaries/engines, and I really don't have the drive to make one. Here's the idea I'd been planning since the contest was first announced back a while, months now, probably. Now go, shoo, and get creatin'.

Pixel movement (w/ sidescroller example)

Isometric pixel movement

slightly better sidescroller example

Off to go hunt down an artist, then.

Just played with the demo in your bottom link. Nice work! It's really spectacular.

That gives me an idea for another demo...

Thanks. If you use it for your entry I'd appreciate it if you could give me credit. It's not that I need the credit, it's the demo that needs the recognition. People seem to ask for features like this a lot but don't realize what already exists. Having the winning casual game (no pressure!) advertise the demo might help out.

I suppose asking for details probably is a no-go. :P

Sure! If you don't mind, I'd really like to base it off of this. I'm looking into combining it with Shadowdarkes pixel projectiles library right now, to get that functionality squared away. After that, it should be smooth sailing, and I hope I do well then! Of course, credit will find it's way back to you, regardless of the result.
