I'm back with a competition. The challenge, although it sounds simple, hopefully will not be.

I want you to make an original casual game. A game that's entertaining for parties, good when you're bored or just something to keep you sane when you're short on time. Card game, board game, mystical fairy game with matching unicorns and fairies, whatever.

Your prizes are: $100.00 USD for the winner and $50.00 USD for the runner up, to be spent however you want. If you have a paypal account and want the money, so be it. If you want an Amazon gift card, fine. If you want 5.56 BYOND Memberships, alrighty. The only things you can't get are anything that can't be done with a credit card, or anything that requires money orders or the sending of physical money.

You have one month. The competition ends on the 19th of September with judgement coming afterwards. If you work in a team, all team members must be noted and the prizes will be broken up evenly between you to be spent however you want.

Please do have some idea of what you want before you win. I don't like having to hang onto funds that aren't mine for long periods.

Source code submissions aren't necessary. DMB and RSC will do.

Use whatever libraries you need too, after all, I can't check.

Use whatever graphics are freely available to you that aren't "ripped" or stolen. As originality is the goal, try coming up with something on your own. Provided the game is fun, I honestly don't care what it looks like in the graphic respect.

A hint: You will lose points for using the standard BYOND interface. Make your interface a flowing part of your game.

Entires can be hubs or emailed to me at [email protected].

Get cracking.

[Edit] TsFreaks has added $25.00 USD to the prize pool, giving a third prize to be won.
Awesome.
One entry per applicant or are we able to just submit whatever?
I'd like to donate to the prize pool. How so?
I'm in.

Go nuts.

What do you wish to donate?

paypal/cash - How about 25$
Are we allowed to reuse "code"? For an example, I have an unfinished-unreleased pixel movement library.

@Ts: Alrighty. The best idea I can come up with in terms of additional prizes that I honestly never thought about receiving in the two minutes it took me to come up with this idea and post it. Would be to simply forward it to my paypal account, to which it'll be injected into the prize pool, and in your donations case, adding a third prize of $25.00 (I'll make up the paypal fees etc). Anything there after will be used to either reward promising efforts or increase the overall winning amount of the top three prizes.

Sound fair to everyone?

Tis good.
Done. 25$ submitted to your donations PayPal account. Use it as you see fit.

FYI: I landed on a Tibernath - "Page Not Found" after submitting in paypal.

It'll sit there for the majority of this month, most likely.

Odd, that button shouldn't link to any tiberath.com pages. I'll check into it later. Thanks.
Great idea, I'm sure to be participating in this one.
Awesomeness, looks like I'll have to sift through my design docs for something...
Timing fail.

I was wondering.... wait till Saturday?
How casual of a game are we talking here? Does it really matter?
"Timing fail."

No kidding! Its Ramadan! :p

Still, I have to admit I am interested in joining in this competition, hopefully I'll do something (sorry Iain :( for last GetSomethingDone :( ).

They're casual games. They can literally be designed, written and bug tested in under three days if people put their minds to it.

As long as the game can be accepted in the guild, I stand by my previous statement of "go nuts".
